Insure the batteries are working correct and in the proper direction. Also double check the bulb to isure it was not damaged and put in correctly. If it was working before new bulb inst. try a new bulb

Hi got ford focus 2001 1.6 now for the problem the left hand rear back light wont come on at all stop light on it works fine any ideas pls could it be the bulb holder tried changing bulb but still no

Are you certain that the correct bulb was installed? You need to look the bulb number up on a chart for the vehicle. Your bulb should have 2 nubs on the base if it's a dual function bulb.
And how exactly did you check the wiring? If you did a visual inspection only and not test it with a voltmeter, then have a mechanic have a look at it. That won't cost much at all.

Check the ground connections. I've had good bulbs that didnt work because there was a bad ground leading to the bulbs socket.

Turn on the rear window wiper . Try to get the wiper arm off the glass. There is a switch that will not let the window operate if the wiper is on the glass.
