The following link provides the part number and step-by-step instructions on how to replace one:

Replacements can be purchased at appliancepartspros.com for about $11. If you do not wish to order on line, take the part number I provided to your nearest appliance parts retailer. This is a common part they should have in their stock.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Type 80 series 111 will not agitate good

Possible that the drive has to be checked, check the motor, check the voltage to the motor at the cycle. If not the program module is a suspect.
Check also for friction to the shaft and spindle

My kenmore 80 washer spins just not enough to get as much water out as it should. not even 4 towels model 110-24872300. serial cr 10100 91 type 111

you may want to check, the motor coupler,
this is a three piece part, it sits between the transmission, and the motor and controls the speed
just by being in place..

Kenmore top load hqavy duty 80 series model 82980120 - how does one get to the drive belt. Washer motor hums but no action any cycle.

Your complete model number including the first 3 numbers , is needed to help you get to the coupling . The coupling , is the piece ( pt # 285753 ) which connects the motor to the transmission . When this piece breaks , the motor will run , but no machine action , except for water drain . Even spin , will not work , yet , you will hear the motor running .

I need instructions on replaceing the motor coupler on kenmore washer series 80 mod 110-24822200 typ 111

First you'll need to unplug the unit; after which I'd shut down the water supply and remove these. If against a wall you'll need to move the washer 3-4 feet from it to allow you to tip the washer back. No reason to lay it all the way down just on a heavy angle so you can access the under belly (be certain it will not come back down on you) I expect there is a noise shield you'll have to pull from its tabs. After which you should have a clear view of the motor and see where the remains of your older worn coupling are. I believe on that unit you'll unplug the motor (look for an electrical connection) then there should be two (2) pieces of metal that act like heavy snaps holding the motor in place, using a screw driver or such "un-snap" these pieces (be careful as once there loose the motor is too) this will allow you to drop the motor and gain full access to the coupling. This job should take @ 30 -45 minutes, take your time, keep it clean, keep it safe and in doing so you'll have saved you some good money.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

The 80 series washer wont agitate or spin. all i

If the washer will fill and drain, but won't agitate or spin, you may have a broken motor coupling. The noise of the motor engaging, lack of agitation and ability to still drain are the usual symptoms. This is a common fail item with this model washer through normal wear and tear. Newer versions of the coupler are more resilient and resist breaking. The following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385250-replacing_motor_coupling_kenmore_top

The motor coupling is located between the drive motor and the transmission and takes the place of a drive belt. They do wear out and can break. The replacement part number is included in the link I provided and is an improved upgraded coupling that is more resilient. It should last longer. If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

A replacement coupler can be purchased on line at appliancepartspros.com for about $11. Just use the part number in the link and "Search by Part Number" for your search criteria.
