Question about Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines
I have tried viniger .......didn't work??
First, I'm not a Water Pik technician. But I have worked on similar water pump systems for espresso machines. You should call your vendor or MFR for service. Especially if it's still under warranty.
*** the following is for information only ***
* These units have vibration pumps that force short shots of high pressure water in one direction. Hence the pulsing action from the 'Pik'. If the tank goes completely empty while in use then air gets into the pump and one way valve. Refilling the tank (full) and restarting the pump will help push the air out. It helps to hold the probe (Pik) end down to the sink. Be sure to keep it lower than the tank and unit. Keep turning the unit on/off until the air is purged and you get a regular flow. If you have a clear tube and note water drops only vibrating back and forth in the tube, then there is still a bubble blockage. Shaking the tube up and mainly downward may help.
* If the water (in the tube) only sits steady with no movement then the and you hear a loud buzzing sound (or no buzz at all) then the pump is bad and needs to be replaced.
* I recommend a complete replacement of the pump as it's very tedious to dis-assemble and service. (lots of very tiny parts) Here is a link about it (but it might be too much information):
PS; you might check with your dentist as they usually the ones that promote this stuff, or at least have a service contact. (in this case it really won't hurt. ;-)
