Electric Shower My electric shower is showing overheat and just running cold. I assume this is the thermostat? I also assume that it is probably easier to buy a new shower than try to buy the part. Problem being is it is a Creda Aqua Wave II and I can't remember if it is a 8.5 or 9.5 KW? Is there anyway to tell (I cannot find the manual)

I have a creda aquawave contemporary model 8.5 kw shower. The water temp is only luke warm, even when you turn the temp control to max. I am assuming that the problem lies with the thermal cut out switch. Any tips/solutions to fixing the problem appriciated.

SOURCE: MY Triton T90si electric shower

Most conventional showers have brass seats or rubber seats that can deteriorate over time. these will leak or dribble and not maintain your temp.. Rubber and brass seats are a fairly common and easy replacement. It sure beats trying to rip out a shower valve.

SOURCE: shower will not heat up

May have a tripped thermal overload or blown fuse. Some overloads reset automatically but some will have a red button to reset it with. Some have to be replaced.

SOURCE: ? faulty overheat function on shower

Check the in line filter in the inlet solenoid valve assembly. If there is crud collecting in the filter this will restrict water flow and the over heat protection will trigger to protect the heater elements

I have a problem with low hot water pressure can you help would an elec shower help

1) If possible, it is Best to solve pressure problem before installing new shower.

2) If the cold water has good pressure, then Electric shower could fix problem ... but shower would have to be connected to the cold water line and not the hot.

3) Seems the expense of adding a electric shower would be greater than having plumber fix low hot water pressure.
Assuming you have access to plumbing pipes, and this is not apartment building.

I have a bristan 8.5kw electric shower, temp fluctuated to very hot, then to very cold. Now only cold. I had a combi boiler fitted now the shower seems broken, does this have any relevance to the flu

Changing the heating system will not affect an electric shower as it is run from the cold water supply, sound like the temp thermostat has blown ,contact bristan or there website to get a replacement thermostat, telling them which model electric showrr you have.

Hi, I just got my new DHC 10-2 today, the installation was easy but I have a problem. The problem is that heating is not constant. Once I mix the cold and hot water I should have an uniform temperature but...

This electric demand water heaters has one heater element. The flow switch turns it on. The thermostat cycles it on and off according to temperature. There is no medium.
You need to run the sink on hot while you take a shower. This kind of cancels out the savings on electricity.
Or get a higher flow shower head. Your screen on the shower head may be partially fouled.
Here is the brochure. It shows the flow rates for the different models.

Electric shower hot and cold

it sounds like the flow is too low and causing the heat chamber to overheat ( or the heat sensor is faulty and thinks it is too hot) is the water too hot before it goes cold?

Triton electric shower runs cold

hi it sounds as though the thermostat has gone on top of the can assembly, or moreover it has scaled up & the element needs replacing, if thats the case your better off buying a new unit as the cost of the can assembly & the fitting it will be nearly as much, plus witha new unit you'll be getting a 2 yr guarantee?
Just a thought!
