Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Averatec 7100 laptop factory recovery disc

Most times the recovery discs don't work. Why not just get an operating system disk and reinstall the operating system?

Have you tried doing a System Restore? System Restore will let you select a Restore Point (date and time) before you started having problems. System Restore will not delete your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs (unless the program was installed after the Restore Point you selected). System Recovery on the other hand will delete everything and set your system back to the point when you first purchased it.

To start System Restore click Start/Programs or Start/All Programs. Click Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. When it opens you will have the option to select another restore point (date and time) than the one shown.

System Restore or System Recovery?
System Restore does not delete your data.
System Recovery deletes everything and sets your system back to when you first purchased it.

To launch System Restore you can:
Windows XP - Click Start/Programs/Accesstories/System Tools/System Restore

Windows Vista - Click Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore

Windows 7 - Click Start then in the search box type "System Restore" (without the quotes) and the system will show you the link to click above in the search results.

For System Recovery - RTM - Read The Manual

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "AcerSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Look for Manuals. Search the manuals for how to start the Recovery.

Have a hp cam trying to install it on an ibm pc

Hi,

I suggest try to check what type of Operating System you have. After you verify your Operating System, Download the driver from the manufacturer website.

Here's how you can check your Operating System:
Windows 7
Start->Control Panel->System and Security->System (in Category View)
Start->Control Panel->System (in Large or Small Icon View)

Vista
Start->Control Panel->System and Maintenance->System (Default View)
Start->Control Panel->System (Classic View)

ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM Passive anti-theft system
Your ignition key has a unique imbedded transponder which engages engine electronics and allows the vehicle to be started. Without the use of your special ignition key, the vehicle will not start.

During each vehicle start, the coded key is read by the anti-theft system. If the key’s ID code matches the code in the anti-theft system, the vehicle is enabled to start.

Anti-theft system
Briefly illuminates when the ignition is turned to the ON position to verify that the passive anti-theft system is operating properly.

System restore

Start the System Control Panel applet. Select the System Restore tab. Clear the "Turn off System Restore on all drives" check box to enable System Restore, or select this check box to disable System Restore. Click OK.
An alternative to the usual method of enabling and disabling Windows XP's System Restore feature is to use the registry. To use this alternative, perform the following steps: Start the registry editor (regedit.exe).

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SystemRestore.
If a "DisableSR" value doesn't exist, go to the Edit menu, select New, DWORD value, and create the value.
Set the value to 1 to disable System Restore or 0 to enable System Restore.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\sr to prevent the System Restore service from starting.

Double-click Start, and set the value to 4 to stop the service from starting or to 0 for normal startup. Close the registry editor.
