Question about Philips HTS3400/37B System

1 Answer

The color on my dvd is red. The TV color is fine.

When we attached our surround sound system, everything was fine except for the color of the DVD'S we put in. The color was always RED.

We used the Best attachments recommended by the store we purchased from. We even took the cables back and tried another set. NO USE..still red.

What do you think.

Thanks, Roy

Coby DVD968 surround sound w/TV

you have to check to see if your TV also has "AUDIO OUTPUT" ports, they would be red/white (not next to a yellow - those are inputs", you would hook up red/white from back of the TV to the back of the DVD player where it is labeled "input", you then turn on the dvd player and press the 'source' button to switch it to the right input for your connection. P.S. - it will only do the front two speakers because your tv only outputs 2 channel audio.

Have lenoxx ht 500 surround sound speakers & dvd but dvd is broken, need to purchase another dvd player but can't source lenoxx model, what other models can i connect surround sound to? or whe

If your surround sound receiver unit has rca audio inputs(red/white), you can hook up any brand of DVD player that has rca outputs. You would hook the yellow output from DVD player to yellow input on TV. Hook red/white output from DVD player to red/white input on surround receiver. Hope this helps.

Hi, You have to make sure you are using the "audio out" from the dvd/surround into the "audio in" on your TV also in some case TVs will need to change the "input" with your remote to see where you connected your dvd/sur also some TVs have a switch for "n" or "off" for internal speakers and also you could have that option in your audio menu on your TV, Hope it help, good luck. DVD surround sound to come through TV at same time?

use nothing but RCA output and input to all equipment. you will need a video cables..its three cables seem/connected side by side together with all male jack at one end and to the another end. the cable are color coded; (you can get this wire from walmart or radio shack, staples and make sure you get at least 5-6 feet long cables) yellow is for video and red for right audio and white is for left audio. everything is color coded on your TV,VCR and your reciever, you cant really get it wrong on the color. fist take one of the yellow video cable to your your tv input and to your vcr output, next take the red and white audio cables and plug it in to your vcr output and to your receiver input. that should do the trick. any other question just ask and i will try to walk you through. good luck!

I can't get my coby DVD 937 to play sound while watching tv. It works fine while playing a DVD or CD????

there should be an input line of just audio cable hookups (one red and one white) that you have to run and an output cable from your tv audio output of just red and white. make sure the tv says output or line out and the surround sound system says input or line in

Can't get surround sound for tv shows

The coby dvd 988 has 2 rca audio input jacks, you need to have these connected to your TV AUDIO OUT jacks, these are usually colored red and white like right and left stereo jacks, be sure to set up the TV for AUDIO output through these connections, some tv`s require that the internal built in speakers are cancelled and the audio output jacks are enabled. Set the coby input signal to receive the port you pluged the tv signal into.

I have an old Zenith Digital Surround System the Receivver is a Model Z763B with a DVD Player/Recorder connected. When I play a DVD or VHS the sound can be heard through the TV and the Sound System,...

I have the same A/V receiver and in my setup there is an audio output (red and white able) coming from DVD player directly into Zenith Z763B. The video from DVD Player goes to TV input (yellow cable).
There might be alternatives to the setup mentioned above but I like to watch movie in a surround sound, rather than output from TV.

Help getting sound from New Sony LCD Television Model XV HTD520 DVD Player with Surround Sound S HTD520

While I could not find it in the manual, I found that you must
go to the menu, open Sound Options and set Speakers to "Fixed".

Note: If you turn off the Surround Sound or DVD player combination you must then go back to the menu and turn the speakers back to Televsion.
