Question about Compaq Presario 700 470024-192 Notebook
I am installing XP SP3 pro on my presario C700. I originally hadd a trial version of VISTA Home premium and I hated it. During the installation process, it was told me setup cannot be completed because Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in my computer. It is telling me to make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer and that disk related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a namufacturer supplied diagnostic or set up program.
Most likely you have a SATA drive which windows is not detecting. Restart the setup and press F6. You will need to use another system to download the SATA drivers and save to a disk. Then when prompted you can insert the disk. You can also upgrade to XP professional which will almost always recognize the SATA drives. Good Luck.
