I have a Fresh Air by EcoQuest unit and it won't turn on, but the light on the front panel flickers for a second.

I recently acquired this air filter from a friend. The problem is it won't turn on. Once I push the switch to turn it on the front panel flickers with a light a split second. I opened it up and when I turn it on I hear a small flick and then nothing else. Please help!

SOURCE: Fresh air 2.0: Unit cycles on and off.

The problem is dust or moisture on one or more of the circuit boards, in the bottom of the unit. The problem is usually caused by resetting the cleaning reminder without actually cleaning the machine. ;-) It hasn't been difficult for me to solve so far. Remove the filter. Remove the two screws that hold on the plate where the rear switch is located. The wires are long enough that they don't need to be removed from the switch. Use a blow dryer or dry compressed air to blow off the circuit boards. ****Keep your face out of the way!!! Be sure not to get the blow dryer too close or too hot. If you have a Warm setting, use that. Good luck!

SOURCE: My EcoQuest Fresh Air unit stopped working. The fuse seems to be good. It will not turn on. Any suggestions?

A common problem with the Fresh Air when they are not cleaned regularly is heat build up, which may cause circuit board failure. There are two processors on the circuit board which burn out. The circuit board can be repaired rather than replaced at a very reasonable cost and one repair facility will guarantee their work for 1 year. Call toll free (336) 499-2505 between 8: 00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern time and they will gladly help you.

What can I do for two Ecoquest fresh air 2.1 that both flicker on start up?

It doesn't sound fixable in the field. It may be a control panel issue. Contact Vollara (which bought Ecoquest) & get through to tech support. 800-989-2299.

Ecoquest fresh air not omitting ozone

Did you clean the plate contacts with alcohol? How old is the plate? Is the glue that holds the grid in place turning brown? If it is, it may need to be replaced. Call (336) 499-2505 and ask for free email supplemental cleaning instructions before you do anything else. The instructions may help you solve the problem.

Perform cleaning on EcoQuest Fresh Air won't go away after pushing reset button

If you did not thoroughly clean the contacts for the ozone plate, the "Perform Cleaning" light will not reset.

Everything works but the fan will not turn. I recently performed a thorough cleaning and installed a new ozone filter, but the fan will not turn. I tried turning the fan manually and the unit would run...

The fan needs oiling (except for the Fresh Air, which has sealed bearings and no removable front grid). I need to know which model you have to help you reach the fan shaft. However, if you're handy, you can figure it out. Remove the front grid (if there is one on your model) and pull off the fan blades. Use a light household oil (sewing machine, hair clipper, 3-in-1) to drip down the shaft as you turn it manually. This should take care of the problem.
If not, and if you need more extensive repairs or rebuilding, call Vollara (new name for EcoQuest) customer service at 1-800-989-2299 and use 16618 as your dealer referral number.

Fresh air flashes

This looks like a control board error. It needs to come in for repair. be careful not to turn it on, the RCI cell ( the blue light in the back) will stop working if it is switched off and on fast.

Call the company 1-800-989-2299 and get an RMA number. If you are under three years, you are still under warranty.

I have a fresh air by Ecoquest the motor stops

I recently fixed one with the same problem. Remove the rear cover where the switch is mounted. (Take off the filter first) The wires have enough length that it is not necessary to remove them. Use a blow dryer and blow into the opening to remove dust and moisture from the circuit boards. Either one will make it start and stop. Make sure not to get it too hot or too close. Good Luck. I can't help you with the dealer question as I'm in NC.

Freshaire by ecoquest air freshener

I would guess misplaced wire.
Depending on how many and which wires you displaced to accomplish the bulb replacement. I would have to guess that if you did everything correctly and perfectly then the circuit board failed.
My other guess is that if you removed the front panel to circuit board connectors, you may not have reconnected the smaller thin ones on the left in the correct position.

If those check correct and all the other wires are in the correct locations, then there is a repair outfit located through the internet that seems reasonable for approaching for a more involved repair job. The one I looked up had rebuilds available, so you might be able to get a replacement for a better price with your old one exchanged.
If you go this route, just do a web search for EQ air purifier parts/repair.
