We contacted the manufacturer and they emailed me a PDF of the operations manual. I found the diagram on the parts page and was able to see how the belt fit onto the gears. After that it was a simple fix.

My Bissell will not spray water out on the floor but the hand tool works fine. Need some advice on what to check

First check fluid levels. Check Bladder level is full and Heater tank level. Sounds silly but you never know
1. Check the tank seating. If the tanks aren't seated corrected they won't work correctly. Turn off and unplug unit. Remove tanks and reinstall them.
2. Check filter. It may be clogged. This is the "FLOW INDICATOR". Remove the cap and rotor. The filter is just below the rotor and cleans by back flushing. CAUTION: don't drop it down the drain.
3. Check pump belt. Belt can break and cause the problem. Turn off unit. Turn unit back on and check too see the DirtLifter PowerBrush turns. Refer to NOTE below if brush doesn't turn.
4. Reprime pump. Loss of prime can happen if fluid levels are low. Turn unit off for 1 minute then turn unit on and press the trigger.

For all checks it is best to turn unit off and unplug it. NEVER USE ELECTRICITY WITH FLUIDS.
BROKEN BELT: Turn the machine off and unplug it. Move it to a dry area. You will need a flat head screwdriver.
NOTE:
Insert screwdriver into the lower slot of the belt access door to release the lower snap (on left side of unit as you are looking from the front about an inch up behind the adjustment knob) If necessary insert the blade end into the upper slot to release the upper snap. Examine the belt for breakage. If broken, refer to your User Guide for replacement parts. Installation instructions will accompany the replacement.

Hi, the cleaner is making an unusual griding sound and smells like burning rubber. Ideas?

broken belt or dislodged belt on the roller unit. Check and replace belt, it's pretty simple to do but you will have to remove a few screws and a plate to get to the belt/rollers.

When I push my vacuum with the rotary brush on carpet the rotary brush head shakes. It's fine when I pull it back. I just can't push it.

it may be time to replace the belt on the unit. sometimes when the belt slips (not broken yet) it will give you the same effect. It will also sound a little sluggish too. replace the belt and you should be ok for 1 year. if your using the unit more than one time a week you may have to replace the belt 2 or more times a year.

good luck.

My dryer was making a loud squeeking noise while drying, now it won't start, I can hear it trying purring but than it does not start, help!

if you can hear the motor running, and if this unit does not have a belt shut off switch, the motor will run even if the belt is broken, the squeaking noise earlier was probably the belt starting to slip on the drum, replace the belt and drum glides when repairing, they are relatively inexpensive and as long as its torn down replace these too

Hi Im having a problem with my dryer..........Its getting hot and everything but the drum on the inside is not turning so only half of the clothes are getting dry.Can you help me?

Almost certainly the belt has either slipped off or has broken. You need to ask an appliance tech to check it if belt is broken as the electrics have to be disconnected and drum removed to install new one. There is a belt tensioner on some of the units as well.

Trying to find out how old this unit is Not drying

The fd number will tell you date of manufacture.
eg FD 8506...the 85 means 2005 the 06 means June
FD7809 the 78 mean 1998 the 09 is Sept.
If the belts broken it will not dry the load.

Yes - the vent exhausts humid air, and draws IN fresh dry air. So the humid air is staying trapped in your unit.
