I can`t install my Lifecam VX2000

Hello!
Please, check if your Operating System is compatible with your camera, because if not you will have to update.
  • Start>right click Computer>Properties; you will see the first line "Windows Edition" under which you can see which is your Operating System and all the information about it.
  • The camera you have is compatible with Windows 7, but can also work with at least Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista.
  • If your Operating System is older then the above, you will have to update: go to www.microsoft.com and click on downloads, choose your program (XP, Vista, et.), and in the first tab after loading the page you will see the latest update (for example: If XP, you will see download tab for Service Pack 3; if Vista, you will see download tab for Service Pack 2)
  • You can also update using Windows Update: Start>type Windows Update in the search box>Enter>Check for Updates. Install updates and restart your computer.
  • If you do not have the driver for installing your camera, please go to
http://www.howtosetupwebcam.com/news/Microsoft-LifeCam-VX-2000

and see video on how to install your camera. You can also download the driver, BUT make sure you choose the right one for your Operating System-compare drivers on the site and your System info (see step 1).

Good luck!
Regards!

Lifecam vx-1000 with vista from the internet

There are number of ways:
1. Connect the camera to the PC and go 'start' - 'Windows update' and let Windows and the update site find the driver for you.

2. Search using your browser by going to Microsoft.com and entering 'driver lifecam VX-1000'. The search will provide you with a number of options, one of those will be for Vista.

3. Right click on 'My Computer' -'Manage'-'Devices' and pick the one with the question mark (should be your Lifecam), 'update driver' and let it search the internet for the driver.

Cant run webcam for vista.

Here is the weblink for download the driver for LifeCam 1.4 32-bit and 64-bit for Windows Vista :

http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/9/5/195512A9-1C1E-4429-BFF0-613D8D92E122/LC14.exe

Note: Do not click on the link. Copy the entire weblink from "http" to ".exe" and paste it in a new Internet Explorer and hit 'Enter' to open the link.

Please select the "save" option before it prompts for download. After the download of the driver, you need to double click the file to install. Restart the notebook after the installation of the drivers to get the changes to effect.

I am sure insalling this software, should fix this issue.

LifeCam VX-1000 on Windows Vista Dell 1521 Turion 64

I just checked to verify that Microsoft does indeed offer a Vista compatible download for that cam. If you are serious about using the cam on the Vista machine, maybe you should try downloading the driver directly from Microsoft. It is entirely possible that the CD drive on your Vista machine is having problems reading the CD that came with the webcam and the download would be a direct install from the hard drive. Heck, it's worth a try, don't ya think.

Software won't work with vista

Uninstall Windows Vista. Do a fresh install of Windows XP Professional Sp2. Download XP drivers and install camera. Many software programs have trouble initializing in Windows Vista. Good luck!
