Question about Memorex MLTD2622 26 in. LCD TV

2 Answers

The TV no longer works. The red power light on the TV no longer shines as it did when the TV was off. Any idea what the problem might be and if it is worth repairing? The TV is only 5 months old.

D10 is shorted. HER304 in middle of Power supply board near large electrolytic cap. Replace with Radio Shack 276-1144 3A 400PIV Diode. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH HIGH VOLTAGE PRESENT ON POWER SUPPLY BOARD. UNPLUG POWER CORD!!! OBSERVE PROPER POLARITY WHEN REPLACING DIODE-LOOK WHERE THE BAND IS.

PS- I just fixed this same problem this morning on same model.

Check the fuse next to the power outlet before continuing with this solution.

sounds like you are having problems with your control board, psu, or most likely the power inverter. shine a flashlight onto the screen and see if you can see a dark image.

What is red light in tower for?

The light in the tower indicates power is going to the motherboard. It is helpful since it is never a good idea to mess with a powered motherboard.

Lights for 480v photo cell control, the blue one, come on and stay on, any suggestions, or reasons this would happen? Is longer than 5 minutes

Unknown if this is new installation, or old installation that went bad.
Old install, then check voltage is correct for rating plate, check that line power is not under-voltage, check that photo control receives enough light by shining 120Volt light bulb onto photo eye, replace photo eye
New install, check wiring. Photo cell has 3 wires, For example Black White and Red.
Black and White connect to power source, and Red goes to load.

I turned off the tv a couple of nights ago and now it doesn't seem to have power? The outlet is okay as other electronics work when plugged in to the same place. I have unplugged. The light that used...

Firstly I would still try a different outlet, you can also try to wiggle the cord at the base of were it comes out of the back of the TV and watch the light for action. If this does not work I would call the manufacture as you dont want to take your tv apart on your own and most likely if the light wont come on at all you are going to need a new power supply or the connection to the board could be lose.

No picture, just a red blinking light

First make sure to hit the menu button on the TV's remote and if nothing is there then friend while the set is on turn a bright flashlight on and shine at angle into the set push the TV menu button if you can see a image then your back light is not working.
Cost backlights around 150.00 and power supplies around 100.00. Well this should help you friend.

Blue CRT issues?

Yes the puddle is related to the Blue CRT coolant leaking. You are most likely going to need a new Blue CRT drive circuit board and quite possibly a new Blue CRT if the CRT got too hot from not haveing a sufficent supply of coolant. You can get replacement CRT drives and CRts at the following link.
