Yahoo Mail
Recovering the password to your Yahoo mail account is not that difficult, provided you had linked your phone number and email address as recovery options. In the event, when you are not in a position to use the phone number, it makes sense to utilize the email.
The recovery process involved ( using alternate email address) is as follows: -
1. Open your browser and go to Yahoo.com.
2. Now, click on Sign-in.
3. Enter your Yahoo mail address and hit the Next button.
4. Since you don't remember the password, click on -I forgot the password button.
5. You will now be offered the recovery options. In the first lot, you will be asked - Do you have access to this phone number. As you don't, make sure to click- I don't have access to this phone.
6. In the next step, you will be asked - Do you have access to this email. If yes, click - Send me an Account Key.
7. Open the email address linked to account and check for any Account key.
8. If you have received the account key, enter the same in the relevant box and hit the verify button.
9. Once the code is verified, you will be redirected to a new page, wherein you are required to enter the new password twice.
10. Follow the instructions and click Save.
When you have completed the procedure, it will then present you with an opportunity to recover Yahoo mail password, without having the need for a phone number.

This is quite unusual and there is nothing you can do about this except to report this error to the Yahoo mail technical support team.
Go to the following page
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/forms_index.html
and from it select the form (click the page to get it), that is proper for your report.
Don't send any login information unless they ask for it (they will likely NOT ask for a password, but can ask you for your username).
This error information shows that their mail login processing scripts and possibly their database interface have been corrupted or coded incorrectly, and this is something that only they can fix, not you, the mailbox user. HTH

I think you might be able to use a mail program like windows mail or incredimail (free download) and then import your yahoo stuff, Yahoo is a pop server so you should be able to open windows mail create a new account and get the server information from yahoo support, I know the one will probably be pop.yahoo.com and the smtp server should be smtp.yahoo.com not too sure but give it a shot...Steve

In case of a hacked account send a mail describing your problem to [email protected]. If this doesn't help, call Yahoo: 1-408-349-1572 (personal account) and 800-318-0783 (business account), explain to a customer service person what happened. They will ask you to do certain things and then they compare your original info with the changed info. Within 24 hrs you should get your account back!
