How do I replace breville ironing catriged

Hello there,
From Breville website, there is NO insruction manual for the VIN 002 !!!!!
Go here for all of them
http://www.breville.co.uk/cat-search?cat=Irons&term=Manual

I don't know what you meant by 'cartridge' but Just looking at one randomly, it says.......
Anti-scale filter
Your iron is fitted with a permanent anti-scale filter. This filter is fixed and cannot be
removed for cleaning

Hope this helps

see the instruction from your manual:
Check the owner's manual for your iron to learn the manufacturer's suggestions for cleaning, what water to use, and storage tips.
Soft-water systems add minerals that can harm an electric steam iron and your clothes so don't fill the iron with softened water. Instead, use filtered or distilled water.
2) if the iron does not heat a( test the power cord for open or defective b) and thermostat for adjust c) test the thermal fuse d) test the heating element for open.

The iron heats well and I put the water in, but even when set above the steam icon, pushing the white steam button does nothing. No steam no spritz. When I opened the water chamber to let the water out, I...

Before you go through the process of taking it apart, buy some clr or a similar lime and rust removal product and fill the iron with that, let it sit a while and then dump it out and fill it with water a few times. Often if tap water is used, internal deposits will form and block off the passages, same as what happens in your car radiator over time. Most steam irons work better if you use distilled water in them as there are no dissolved minerals in that. Most replacement parts cost nearly as much as the iron itself and it's generally not cost effective to repair them.

The iron turns itself off while I'm ironing. Whats the problem?

I noticed the same problem my friend. The problem with mine was that the wire was having some kind of partial contact at the end inside the iron. The wire was twisted and tangled. I will advice You to
  1. Unscrew the iron from the compartment at the back of the iron,
  2. Then You force up the control of the iron,
  3. You will see 2 screws side by side, unscrew them open to release the lower part of the iron,
  4. Tail the wire to part that it is connected to in the iron,
  5. Then you unscrew the screws that hold the wire and disconnect it from the iron, then you Cut the rough edge of the wire or you can replace the wire completely,
  6. Reverse the process to reassemble the iron back together.
Also another cause might be that the connection to the power socket is loose and disconnects itself while you are ironing. In that case, it is the socket you are to replace.
Some irons are also made that way, that once it gets too hot and is not being controlled, the power will cut off its power supply by itself.
That should do the job for you. Hope this information was helpful.

How to repair aan electrical iron

Hi,

If the iron doesn't heat, make sure power is on to the outlet, check the electrical chord, and check the thermostat and replace if necessary.

If the iron heats but steams improperly, inspect the soleplate and clean the vents and flush sediment out of the steam chamber .
If the iron produces too much or too little heat, test the electrical chord . Also test and, if needed, adjust calibration of the thermostat.
If the iron does not spray properly, inspect and clean the nozzle.
If the iron leaks or spits, clean the steam vents, nozzle, and tank.
If the iron sticks to fabric, clean or repair the sole plate. If the iron stains fabric, clean the sole plate, clean the tank with a commercial cleaner, and use distilled or filtered water.

The tools you will need are

  • Screwdrivers
  • Toothpicks or pipe cleaners
  • Sewing needle
  • Commercial electric iron cleaning solution or vinegar and water
  • Commercial sole plate cleaner or baking soda and water
  • Steel wool
  • Emery cloth
Please rate my solution.

My Rowenta iron will not heat up. The yellow light just continues to blink- so I know that there is some electrical current. I have a friend with the same issue with the same iron. Is there a trick to this...

Inside the iron is a piece of thermal metal the is supposed to make contact with a small ceramic pin with a metal cap on it. I think this was intended to be a safety device but they fail and the iron will not heat up. The part does not seem to be available so easiest way to fix is to put a small bead of glue on the housing that forces this to make contact.

Rowenta Iron problems

inside the iron is a thermal switch that has failed to make contact. Dissassemble the iron and you will see a small white ceramic pin sticking up out of the heating chamber and on tip there is a small contact. Above it is another contact that makes the heating element work. Easiest way to fix is to put a small bead of glue on the housing to force the contacts together.

Rust

No. The machine is not gone but you may have to replace the steam compartment of the machine.. You can also try cleaning the rust.. You will need to get a pair of gloves open the steam compartment and clean the rusted area with dilute oxalic acid.. It will work more often than not..
Good Luck!
