3.75 hp engine - done 3 seasons lawnmower. Has been running fine till yesterday. All of a sudden the power just faded away. I thought the engine was going to conk-out, but it just kept on sitting there simpering. I have cleaned air filter and inside of carb. No better. Can you suggest anything else? Thanks Dave Grant in Scotland

You must clean out the float bowl under the carb. Find the hex nut at the center bottom of the bowl to remove. There will be dirt and/or water.

Clean the hex nut too. It functions as a jet and has a small hole in it.

Dran a bit from the bottom of the fuel tank to. Your problem is indicative of water being sucked up from the bottom of the tank.

Add some fresh fuel and a biot of "gas Dryer" methanol.

Try checking you oil.if it is not low then check the compression to see if your rings or valves are waring.if all that's good then it has to be the carb. either the float is sticking or there's a fuel problem somewhere
also the spark-plug maybe loose. see if it runs better when is is choked if it does then you may not be getting the proper fuel presser check the lines and filter you may have a small fuel leak.

The snow blower runs but when I begin to blow snow it dies and won't start right away

try running a can of automotive carb cleaner thru the tank of gas the type that says cleans as you drive on bottle this helps sometimes and keeps you from having to remove and tottlay clean out carb from stale gas being left inside it

reminder: allways run seasonal engines till there out of fuel before putting away for season , that way they tend to start right back up in season with a fresh tank of gas !!!

220.brigs and Stratton oil how much insump

A small qt bottle of SAE 30 wt oil, of ANY brand is fine for use in lawnmowers. The tolerances for the piston ring and cylinder are not so close to warrant more expensive synthetic blends. A simple std grade (cheapest) 30 wt is fine. It is a good practice to drain and refill your lawnmower engine before each cutting season, replace the air filter, and spark plug. Carburetors tend to foul so empty the gas tank at the end of each cutting season by letting the mower run out of gas... empty the float bowl, if it has a drain screw... this will keep varnish and gum from forming when you store it. Keep a spare cord on hand as they break when you least expect them to and when you need to use the mower. Hardware stores sell replacement cord, just cut to lengths as needed.

I have a 2001 tj magna solara.all in well maintained condition.Have suddenly had the transmission fade to nothing over a two week period.could this be electronic selection or transmission gone.can u o

check transmission oil level. check colour of the transmission oil. change it tan not red. check filter in the box for blockage. ( failing clutch material. run fault codes and check TCM for faults. have a pressure test done on the box to check for mechanical faults

replacement box is the absolute last option

I have a few horizontal wavy lines at the top of the screen when I first turn on the TV. They eventually fade after a few minutes. What's going on? Is this serious?

yes it is, your hyper board has bad caps and they will just get worse and worse. you can run it on an HD signal to keep it going longer but eventually even the HD will have the wavy lines too.. basically the hyper board needs new 10uf 16v surface mount capacitors, replace all those and your golden, but its a difficult repair, even for a educated and seasoned electronics tech, estimate from repair shop will run you $250-$550
if you can solder surface mount, you can fix it yourself for like $20
let me know if I can provide further assistance

My unit has been running great up till now. Just

Check compressor for high current consumption.Check capacitors. Check fan speed.

If fan speed is low compressor will over heat and trip safety circuit in the compressor. If there are independent fans check both of them.
