Only data and pictures come over the camera cable. The printer won't charge your camera battery.

Recharging

The L18 takes two AA batteries. If you use rechargeable batteries you will need to recharge them outside the camera. To save weight, space, and cost, the camera does not incorporate any charging circuitry.

Does not hold a charge

Hello. When a camera will not hold a charge you must replace the rechargeable battery. Take your camera into a local camera shop along with the charger and have them test both the battery and the charger. This is generally a free service. Joe

Recharging the battery

Hello

Thank you for using FixYa for your problem

Always check the batteries first but if is it still giving the same fault, your camera is faulty.
It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

My wife let the battery totally die on our cyber-shot for the first time. I tried turning it on not know the battery was really dead. It came on and the lens went out and dead. We charged the battery and...

Hello and thank you for using Fixya!

I would recommend purchasing a new rechargeable battery from your closest electronics store and making sure that it will turn on. Usually, when rechargeable batteries go down, they take at leat 24-48 hours to get a good recharge. If it is acting this way though, the best thing to do is go aheand and replace them so that the bad batteries will not cause further problems.

Hope this helps and positive feedback is appreciated!

The laser light does not work untill I open the unit and reinstall the batteries. This only works for a short time . HP REV.1.0 S/N. BM8291960

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.

You will need to replace the batteries for it to work properly. The original batteries are rechargeable but they only work for a short time before going completely out. I found that purchasing the really good rechargeable batteries that are used for digital cameras worked well. I purchased two sets to have on hand while the others recharged.

Hope this helps!

Battery dies right away

You might want to try NON rechargeable batteries, particularly "digitally" rated alkalines. If this won't do it, I'd take it to get looked at.
