I have an HP Laptop LAN connection will not connect to internet

I have had this happen before not sure if it has to do with CA firewall? I just moved and laptop (wireless) was working fine, when i put it in new location it shows wireless connectivity and LAN connectivity (100%). When i tried to connect to internet explorer i get Internet explorer cannot dispay the webpage? I have a PC connected to wireless router with a LAN line and it connecting fine. I even got another wireless network next door neighbor and shows excellent signal and same response cannot display webpage? Any ideas, please help
Thanks!

Hi, You are connected to a network(LAN or Wireless) that fine. Please make sure that internet is working fine and using the correct credentials provided by the service provider and router is properly configured. If you think it problem with CS Firewall, make it disable for some time then try

The wireless modem you are connecting to is protected with a WEP key. You have to get the WEP key or find another wifi hotspot that is not protected.

You can also get a better antenna for your laptop to see if you can pull in another site.

How to transfer my internet connection into my laptop?

I assume your existing computer is connected to the Internet with a LAN cable to your DSL or cable modem. In this case just move the LAN cable from your desktop computer and connect it to the LAN port on your laptop.
If this is not the case then you need to supply me with details of your Internet setup and the hardware configuration of your laptop including the make and model.

My HP Pavilion laptop no longer connects to the internet via wireless.

When wired go to Lan Settings which is under Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options.>Connections>Lan Settings. Make sure no boxes are checked after clicking Lan Settings.

Solution for ''My hp pavilion notebook will not connect to the internet using a high speed cable modem''

Can you clarify?

Are you trying to connect wirelessly? or directly with an ethernet cable?

For either case, visit the hp support site:
http://welcome.hp.com/country/ca/en/welcome.html#Support
and then select your model (located in bottom of laptop), then download the wireless LAN broadcom (for wireless) and nvidia ethernet cable driver (or something similar to this.)

Hope this helps, and please rate!

I have successfully connected my belkin wireless router and have been able to use my laptop in the past. i have HP 2000 and updated it with windows xp. since then i cannot connedt to the internet. it says...

make sure you have the proper network adapter or you have installed it. You can install the driver here: http://welcome.hp.com/country/ca/en/welcome.html#Support there, look for your hp model and then look for network adapters or wireless lAN.

My laptop used to connect to the wireless connection , but one day it stopped working and now i can only connect to internet using a lan cable

go into the device manager and uninstall the wireless adapter. Then click scan for hardware changes and let windows resinstall it. It sounds like a corrupt driver. Before doing so make sure you didnt hit the wireless button that shuts off the connection on the computer. :)

Wi Fi fine, ISP fine, no internet via LAN connection though.

Make sure your firewall is not blocking your ability to go to websites. I saw this the other day, somehow the users firewall was set to block all internet traffic out of the computer.
