THE WIRELESS CONNECTION SHOWS FULL STRENGTH ON ONE BUT ONLY ONE COMPUTER OUT OF TWO IS ABLE TO GET ON THE INTERNET

Having a wireless Internet signal in your home allows multiple devices to use the same Internet connection without having to run lengths of Ethernet cable to each device. Given that the wireless network is transmitted over the air, the consistency of your Internet connection depends on the strength of the wireless signal. If wireless signal strength is not strong enough to give you a consistent Internet connection, there are a few simple steps for finding the problem and improving your signal strength.

If this is the case, you may need to move the computer to a location that is within the range of the wireless router's broadcast. If you still get poor signal strength, your router may be experiencing a malfunction. Contact the technical support department of your router manufacturer. Router malfunctions often are not the result of a bad or broken router, but of something much simpler, such as the router's needing a firmware upgrade or an incorrect setting on the router's internal setup. If your router manufacturer is unable to improve your wireless signal strength, it may be time to purchase a new router. Purchase a new router. Wireless routers are priced in part based on how widely their wireless signal broadcasts (in other words, the more expensive the router you buy, the larger a wireless signal the router will broadcast). Included in the packaging of each wireless router is the approximated range, in square footage, of that router's wireless network. A good rule of thumb is to know the square footage of your house and buy a router that can accommodate that square footage. That way, as long as the router is functioning properly, you will have strong wireless signal strength throughout your entire home.

Limited connectivity
If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wireless connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and then click Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless card on the laptop.
Also try resetting the wireless router by turning off the power to the wireless router for a few minutes and the boot up your computers.

find that ip of the router e.g 192.168.0.1 or something like that

gott to the lan network connection of pc
got tcip option

in ther enter the ip addree 192.168.0.xxx ( anything but ther router address)
subnet mansk 255.255.255.255.0
defualut gateway the routers ip address
primary dns router router ip address
leave the secondary ip blank

Your computer may be picking up the wireless networks in your area including yours but you still require to configure your computer to the router for which you will require to go through the manual which came along with the router/modem. If you are a computer savy man you can do it yourself otherwise you will require services of technical person.

Has your wireless router/modem been configured to your ISP's instructions.
The blinking PPP or Internet LED means the wireless router is not connecting to your ISP.
You should also contact your ISP to get them to test the connection to your router/modem especially if you have a DSL modem.

If WLAN and Wireless cards are enabled, then you may have to unplug your router for 10 seconds to reset it. They tend to build up a static charge. Unplug wireless router for 10 seconds, plug back in and you should be fine in a minute or two with full connectivity

it may be wrong product key. other try the following options. 1.click on start 2.click on run in case of window xp 3 type in ncpa.cpl(in case vista type ncpa.cpl in the start search box at the bottom.) 4.click on manager wireless connection 5. delete all of the wireless connction 6 now, right click on the two computer icon at the botton right corner in the task bar just besides the time clock. 7. click on connect to the network. 8. choose your network and enter the key. you will be connected.

check wireless status to confirm you have full access. You may have the wireless connection but not the internet connection. Power cycle the router. Temporarily turn off the firewall. If you have another system, test the connection with it.

Check the wireless IP address on the XP computer. try to ping default gateway and see whether its giving succesfull reply, after that do ping yahoo.com and check successfull pinging. if it pings successfully the yahoo website , then you should go online.
