Question about Akai PT50DL24 Television

The fan that is behind the bulb is making a loud noise for a few minutes and then the noise stops. We tried spraying the fan with WD40. ?? We can't seem to find a way to remove/replace this fan. Can't find any detailed pictures for this removal.

Sometimes dust accumalates on fins of fans and causes rotation to deform and gets fan off balance causing noise .Also heat from lamp causes deformaties on fan and causes fan bearing to make noise. These fans can be replaced fairly easily

When the fan rotates it makes a loud noise. Sounds like it needs oil. Where can I put lubricating oil?

Simply disassemble where its possible and find the place of the bearings most its short right behind the propellor where the shafts come out the motor if it is hard to find for an accessible place spraying wd40 with the hose pipe on the canister behind the propellors can may be help do not use sewing machine oil because of the time being it accelerates faster dirt in the sliding bush of the shafts.

if it was mine, I would buy some "fan belt dressing spray" and spray my fan belts or have them adjusted. first spray them once, if sound stops a few days, have the tension adjusted. if spray does not work the first time, this is not the problem.

Our oscillating box fan is now making screechy noises. Currently I am putting it on high to get it going for a bit, then I can bring it back down to low. I figure it's just dropping some WD40 or cleaning...

hi, if you go to a car spares shop you should be able to buy a cheap accessory screwdriver kit that should have the correct adapter you need to undo the screws,

but as for using wd40 i wouldnt go that route as wd40 is an easing spray and not a lubrication, it would stop the noise for few days but then it would make it worse as the wd40 would dry up any grease or oil that is their, instead use some spray lube you can also buy this from a car spares shop or you could use something like machine oil or petrolium jelly to grease it up with this will then stop the noise and it should also work a bit better as it will be able to turn a bit easier
