Hi. Try : unlock the car ( push open 3 times) open doors from outside ( make sure they unlocked) switch child lock to lock position and back to open. Pull again on the handle after you switch before you close the door. Let me know if it helped.
There are several methods based on make and model. Usually involves holding LOCK button for 3 seconds or until beep is heard or a combination like CANCEL and LOCK at the same time. Post make and model for a better answer.
Child Proof Locks on a Chrysler are in the INSIDE DOOR JAM... Look where the Striker goes into the Door. Look 2 inches Above that Latch and you will see a Button that you need to push UP...
I had this, I read it is caused by an empty windscreen washer bottle so filled it but no luck. I then read somewhere that a window may be slightly open and its actually the alarm warning making the beeps so open/closed all windows and still it was happening. i then read that the child lock button may have got 'stuck' or more to the point failed in some way, so clicked it once or twice and realised the red light on the switch showing lock as 'on' hadnt come on, so pushed it a bit harder when doing it again and Voila! Problem solved!
As it happens, the problem WAS something to do with the child locks! It 'sort of' righted itself, when I did similar stuff to your suggestions, but it was so long ago now, and even at the time I didn't know what I did - just that it was something to do with the child locks etc. I shall make sure I try the lock switch first if there is a next time. Many thanks. what a shame the manual couldn't be more informative - there is no section on alarm noises or cross references.
i got peugeot 106 ...! when i waz washing my car by mistake i lock child safety lock....! and i can not open it agein how ever i manage to un lock child key but the door still lock plz help thanks,,,,,( i tryed evre thing)
From the inside only,or both handles?
If inside only, chances are your child safety lock is on in that door.Open door from the outside and look at it by the latch-there is a small white circle with a flat spot.Insert something(key, screwdriver) and turn. This is a safety function so kids can't open the doors from the inside. From time to time they seem to engage themselves.
take the door panel off and check the handle rod that goes to the latch see if it fell off. Seen this happen alot I know you don't want to hear this but they get knock off from someone trying to jimmy the lock.
