Hello,
With regards to your problem with the Rowe Ami 100 cd jukebox.
Do you have a manual, if not I suggest you buy a printer manual or one on CD and refer to the Programming and Installation section.
In order for the jukebox to know about the cd's that are installed in the jukebox it has to initialize all or the changed cd's that have been replaced within the jukebox.
Put the jukebox into the Service Mode (the service mode should appear on the display)
Type 3 to select the Initialize sub menu
Type 0 and full initialize will appear on the display
Press Popular to start the initialization
Place the jukebox service switch into the normal mode
Initiazation will take around 30 minutes to complete.

Hello,
You say you do not have the digital display lite up, have you checked all of the breakers on the power supply?
If not do so. Rowe Ami jukeboxes are very prone to dry joints (cold joints in the USA) this is cracking around the soldered pin on the connections to the boards.
If you can solder correctly then check out the printed circuit board on the power supply. I would retest and see if the display now lights after correcting a fault on the power supply.
If that has not made any difference then proceed to the Mechanism Control Board and the Central Control Computer (CCC) and check again for dry joints.
If you can not solder with any confidence then send in your boards to a Rowe Ami specialist for testing/repair.

AT THIS TIME YOU ARE NOT SURE IF THE PROBLEM IS IN THE LASER ASSEMBLY, OR THE AMPLIFIER?
BORROW OR RENT, AN AMPLIFIER HOOK IT UP TO THE OUT PUT ON THE LASER OUT PUT ON THE LASER CD OUT PUT. LOOK AT LASER UNIT IT HAS A MARKING ON IT THAT SAYS AUDIO OUT PUT. PUT CABLE TO A SECOND AMPLIFIER.
THAT WAY IF IT STILL FADES. THEN THE CD LASER IS THE PROBLEM . IF THE SOUND IS GOOD THEN THE AMPLIFIER IS AT FAULT
