Our Raypak heater model 402WHG won't fire up because our pool man says something has chewed through one of the wires. Can we fix it ourselves?

Your pool man should have fixed it when he was there. It is a simple enough of a fix. No idea why he didnt just do it instead of just telling you about it, possibly to try and get another service call.

If you are mechanically inclined, it is a simple fix...depending on the location of the broken wire.

Raypak pool heater shows 'sensor failure' and also 'sensor open' - what does this require/ thanks

I would check the sensor wiring on side of unit where the inlet and return manifold is - chances are little critters chewed the wires to the sensors. may need to replace the wires if they are too mangled, or can try to splice

Versa model#055b The piolet light is on but the burner will not fire. I can get it to fire by jumping the a&b terminals,

You need to start by hooking to one terminal and folowing the wire to each componenent on the line the problem will be with the one that fires the heater. You will need to look further once you find the component. For example if you find the pressure switch to be the problem it may be a dirty basket or a rusted water header or just a bad switch. So each component will only be a symptom. Good luck.
