Motor is running non-stop but the air is still damp. We have it hooked up to a hose and it doesn't seem to be producing any water like it used to.

I have had my Danby ddr606 unit for 4 years in my basement. It has been running with a hose connected to it that allows the water to drain in the sump pump so I do not have to empty the "bucket"...

Yes. Either the hose is clogged or the hose connection and it's tubing is clogged. When that happens, water is automatically diverted to the bucket. The hose is easy to check for a blockage. Simply remove it and either blow thru it or look thru it for daylight.

To clear the hose connection and tubing. Use an 18" long appropriately sized Zip Tie. Insert the end of the Zip Tie into the hose connection and carefully work it in. You will reach a bend in the tubing that you need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past. Continue to insert it until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. The slowly pill the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will dislodge any clogs. As you reach the tip of the Zip Tie, be prepared as some water may follow. Hook the hose back up, plug the unit in and turn it On. Set the humidity extraction level at 35%. Monitor the end of the hose for water flow, after about 15 - 20 minutes. If water doesn't start to flow, turn the unit OFF and repeat the above procedure. Also, remove the air intake filter and clean it if necessary.

Hope this helped to solve the problem and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Check the float valve in the top of the bucket. It may be stuck in the UP position. If that the case, jiggle the float valve arm to get it to return to the DOWN position. That should solve the problem.

Have model FDL70S1 that is hooked up to a hose into a drain. For some reason now it is collecting in the bucket and shutting off once the bucket is full instead of going down the hose. Any ideas to help?

It is possible that your hose has a build up of algea in it that has started to jell. The water you are removing from the air is very pure and allows this growth. I would remove the hose and clean by blowing through it or hooking it up to faucet and flush it out. If you can get it open then running a cup of bleach thru it on a regular basis will stop this from happening again.

Hooked up garden hose for continuous mode but it Problem with the Whirlpool AD35USS Dehumidifier Hooked up garden hose for continuous mode but it seems the water is going into the bucket and not through...

First, the hose should not exceed 5 feet in length. There is no pump in that model dehumidifier. It relies totally on gravity to drain through the hose.

If all of the above is as stated above, I suspect that hose or the tubing inside the hose connecting is clogged. Which forces the water into the bucket rather than the hose.

To remove the clog in the unit, you will need an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar, that is appropriately sized to fit into the hose connection/drain hole. NO wire coat hangers though.

Carefully feed the Zip Tie in to the hose connection. About 6" in the tubing will bend. You need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of Zip Tie to work with. The slowly remove the Zip Tie while rotating it. This will breakup clog. As you near the end of the Zip Tie coming out, be prepared for some water to follow. DO NOT perform any of this while the unit is plugged in to the wall outlet.

Hope this helped you solve the problem, Robert. Please let me know. Thanks.

Help! Water keeps filling the tank instead of going out the hose

Had the same problem. Make sure you tighten the house a little with pliers. Also, make sure the dehumidifier is up a lot higher than where you're draining it into. Mine drains into a utility sink. But I have the dehumidifier propped up onto a dresser. I cut a small piece of hose to run into the sink. Seems to be working now.

It will take 5 min or so to establish a water flow, so be patient after you hook everything up. Good luck.

My dehumidifier does not collect any water.

One of two things is happening here.

1. Either the compressor isn't running or...

2. The water is not being routed to the collection bucket properly. This dehumidifier has an option to connect to a hose that can be routed to a drain. Look in the back of the unit to see if you see a connection that could accomidate a garden hose. If you see this and there is no hose connected you may be dumping the water on the floor instead of the bucket. This could explain why your carpets are damp.

Not collecting water

If everything is running and no water is being produced the system may have lost its refrigerant. There are two motors in dehumidifiers. One is the fan and the other is the compressor. Make sure they are both running.

Runs for a couple of minutes and then stops

Try cleaning out the air filter using cold water. I did not even know the unit had one until I had the same problem. Pull out the bucket. The filter is located where the front top edge of the bucket would be located if it were in the instrument. Remove it by pulling straight down. It may be taped to the instrument for shipping purposes. According to the manual, this should be done every month. I have had the machine since Katrina and this is the first time I have had a problem. Hope this helps.
