Question about Janome Memory Craft 10000

Computer doesn't recognize the usb drive

Hi: I haven't downloaded designs from my computer to machine in a while because it's always such a hassle. However, the last time I did, everything was working. Now, the computer doesn't recognize the usb drive. I have inserted my EZ Transfer CD and followed directions for the JSMC850 driver, which is already on my computer. However, when I click the "drivers' on the JSMC850 tab, in the Device Manager, it only gives me the option for Windows 98 and 2000. I have XP. I don't know if that's the glitch, but it is so frustrating. I have been at this for two hours today!! Can you help?

Need help using flash stick to download embroidery designs from computer and what they are jef, emb,

.Jef and .Dst will work on a Janome machine. You can buy designs per the hoop sizes for your machine. Buy, download, and transfer received file to a USB drive to transfer deign to machine.

How do I get pes files open8 using windows 8

In order to 'see' the .pes files you have to have some software to read it like embird or embrillance. Embird is $164 but has some neat features such as being able to change colors and convert from one type embroidery files to another. You can just transfer them to the USB drive by: Plug in your drive, copying them, eject the usb drive, and then plug it into the machine. The machine will read it without you having a program that can read machine formats.

If you go to your local jo-ann's or hancock, they generally have a technition who comes in once a week our so to fix machines. A tune-up will generally run between $60-100, and thay should help your above mentioned problem, as well as keep everything else in tio-top shape. If there were, by slim chance, to be any additional costs associated with such a repair, the repair person will tell you ahead of time. Congrats on your new purchase!

My XP computer and my Windows 7 do not have ports for a disk so that I can transfer designs for the Designer I. What do I need to do to be able to transfer these designs? Is that what a reader/writer...

If your computor doesn't have a floppy drive, you can buy an external floppy drive that will just plug into one of your USB ports on your computor. You can probably pick one up for about $30.

I just purchased a pe770 Brother embroidery machine. Do I need anything other programs to download patterns, from my cp, to my flash drive, to use with this machine?

All you need to know when you purchase designs from the internet is that your Brother PE770 will only recognize DST and PES formatting. There isn't anything else!

USB drive does not regularly read the USB flash

I have a Designer I USB that suddenly started not reading the usb stick that came with the machine. I was terrified that my machine was going bad, but I always start with the cheapest solution first. I bought a new usb stick, loaded the designs from the old one into my software then loaded everything on the new usb stick. My machine reads it every time so far. I replaced the usb stick about 3 months ago and have not had another problem since. I don't know if this is your problem, but usb sticks can go bad and since they are so cheap, I would try this first.

I have a deco 340, when i have designs downloaded on the usb stick i can see them in the back ground but it pops up, short of memory. what is my problem

Do you have too many saved designs on the EM, or too large a design on the usb stick.

Are the designs within the hoop size? Sometimes the problem does not an error message and uses the closest the computer can recognize.

How can I upgrade my Designer I from floppy to USB?

Hi, I am just about to buy a designer 1 second hand......I gather that you can have it changed to USB by your dealer, for a couple of hundred pounds however I have also been told to be aware that this will not increase the speed that it reads, apparently they just change the hardware to take a usb stick, the reading software in the machine remains the same.
The advantage is that you can download to USB as most computers don't have a floppy drive any more but if you try and put too many designs on your USB the machine apparently will take forever to find them.
Hope this is useful.

Formating memory

You need to format the usb stick in the machine itself, don't use a high memory one or one that has a partitioned area. 1 gigabyte or lower. You need to use the set icon on the machine and arrow through the pages to find the Format screen. Select the tab for USB device. Then click yes to the prompts, that installs the correct folder system. Now the software end, open easy design and select machine from the top toolbar, set machine type to 11000. Open a design and use the file drop down menu and select Save As, choose JEF in the file type bar, you will see a button below Save , Delete, called options, click on it, you'll find a list of machines, set it for the 11000. It is that selection that saves the design in the correct format. There are 2 jef formats, the old Jef for the previous machines and the enhanced Jef for the 11000. Now rename the design, open the flash memory menu and in the right hand pane you should see your usb flash drive, if it's the only one you have connected all well and good, if not click on each flash drive to find the correct one. You'll know which one it is,because in the window below you will see an Embf folder, open it, you must always open the Embf folder before writing a design, now some have child files inside, emb, if so open that as well , don't create a new folder it wont be read by the machine. Now write the design to the usb flash drive. Do you have a copy of the PCtools software? if so you need to download the update as it's that software that allows 2 way communication between the machine and the computer. Keep an eye on how many designs you insert into the internal memory, it isnt very big. You shouldnt need to reformat the internal memory,
