Somehow while on a trip away from home, the answering machine was turned off. How do I turn it back on?

I have a similar issue. I am on voip and when I receive another voip call all is good. when a regular call comes in, I get on the screen, "Voice Call" and "slient" in the lower corner. Anh ideas?

figure out how many times it takes for your phones answering machine to automatically turn on, then call your phone company and have them limit the number of times your phone rings. like say at 14 rings if it auto answers at 15 rings.

The default security code is 500. To check your messages, dial your number, when the answer machine answers dial your code, the number of mesages will be annonced and then it will begin playback of messages. If the announcement continues after entering your code, wait for the announcement to end or press # to end the announcement, re-enter your code to listen to your messages.
