If the machine is runs with no burning smells, you may be better off removing the power plug and pulling the machine out, You`ll probably find that there`s something behind the maching that`s smoking. If it is smoking, and it works, you`ll probably find that one of the multi plugs that connect the PCB to the motor etc is arching producing the foul smell and black smoke. Ian

In that case you may be better off cutting your losses, but double check that it is indeed the Dishwasher that`s spewing smoke out, Are you sure that there`s nothing behing it or under it that could be producing the smoke. I`d hate you go out and buy a new one, only to find that there`s still smoke coming up. If you`ve got wooden floors, is it not coming from under there?? Ian

Hi, well make sure the dishwasher is getting power. Check your fuse box for blown fuses. If you have circuitbreakers check to see if they are tripped. Make sure the dishwasher's plug is secure in the outlet. The problem could be the blown fuse.

Fixing a Frigidaire Dishwasher (FMB33ORGCO)

Hello Paulus!

From what you have described your Frigidaire dishwasher is will not start and you have performed a reset. This could be a possible issue within your control panel or wiring harness. Since it could be an issue within the electric components I would suggest you speak with a professional technician, they would have the appropriate tools needed for proper disassembly of your dishwasher. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt

Frigidaire 18" dishwasher arm is not spinning, and dishwasher is making a very loud noise.

Hi Ellie, this is AP!

I understand you are experiencing some trouble with your Frigidaire built-in dishwasher. Without knowing the exact model number I would assume there are two spray arms on this dishwasher, are both arms not moving or just one? Keep in mind that some dishwashers have two spray arms that turn at alternate times. They will never move at the same time. The changing of the arms starts at different times depending model and will continue through the end of the selected wash cycle.
If you can provide the model number for the dishwasher I should be able to provide you with the instructions to remove the spray arms or you could contact the manufacture they may supply it to you also. You could also apply rinse aid to the junction between the spray arms and mount to see if it will relieve the arm to spin. If not, please reply back with the model number so I could provide a more educated response.

Best Wishes,

Door latch not working on Frigidaire 18 in.

Hi -

The issue may lie with the door latch; a door switch is used to start and stop your dishwasher. It's a safety feature that won't allow water to flow with the door open. With a faulty door switch, there is a chance your dishwasher won't start at all. Dishwasher door switches are about an inch long. They are usually black but can be red. There are metal prongs on the body of the switch called terminals. Some door switches have two terminals and some have three. If your door switch is OK, check the timer assembly. This controls when and how long power is sent to other controls on your dishwasher. If these controls don't receive power, they won't work. The timer assembly contains a motor. Check this motor as well. It is often cheaper just to replace the timer motor rather than the complete assembly. My last suggestion is to check the cycle selector switches. These switches indicate cycles for washing, drying, and setting the temperature of the water. If one of your switches is the problem your dishwasher may not start. Dishwasher cycle selector switches tell the timer which cycle to run by opening and closing electrical circuits. Most selector switches are six to eight inches long. They are usually black and have terminals. By testing each one of these parts with an ohmmeter you should be able to determine why your dishwasher is not working. It is possible for other parts to fail but these are the most common parts to check. If any proves to be ineffective, I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

I have a Simplicity model 1692762 with a 16hp Briggs and Stratton. The mower blew large plume of white smoke three times while cutting grass over a period of 10 minutes. Engine seemed to lose some power...

I suspect an internal engine issue such as a valve, the white smoke was oil and it could mean a bent, burned valve or damaged valve seat causing the valve stem seal to leak allowing the engine to **** some oil and burn it (the white smoke) and now you lack compression. It is less likely but possible the oil was overfilled and you "lipped" the piston which causes the compression to drop. check the compression, 100-120 is normal, less than that means bad internal parts.

Not cooling after smoke damage

Assuming that the motor is running, my best guess would be that the condenser (a large grid of thin piping) was covered in soot, and should be THOUROUGHLY cleaned, preferably with compressed air.... The condenser will either be underneath the unit, behind a small panel in the front bottom of the unit, or at the back behind a cover at the bottom of the fridge which runs the whoile width. Make sure the fan at the back near the compressor is also running....if the condenser fan is not running when the compressor is running, it won't cool. If the condenser is excessively dirty, it won't cool!
