I found my answer to this on another board. Remove the battery and SD card. Use a paperclip to press in the small siver dot above the + sign for about 10 seconds. This resets the firmware.  It worked for me, hopefully it will work for you too.

These are problems that cannot be fixed, basically your hard drive is on the way out. Typically this is caused by drops, bumps, etc. while the machine is on.It has a SATA 2.5" 120gb 5400 RPM drive, I would suggest a larger 7200 rpm drive but it is up to you. You will also have to reinstall windows to the new hard drive.

Will not rinse well

Is the dishwasher leaving them soapy or dirty with food due to the no rinsing? If the problem is still dirty with food you can try some of the following tips.

Choose a cycle with longer washing time.

Avoid nesting items on top of each other or layering them too close together.
The home water pressure may be too low; it should be between 20-120 psi (pounds per square inch) which should be checked by a plumber.

The incoming water temperature should be at least 120F at the sink closest to the dishwasher before starting a wash cycle.

For heavy food soils always select HI-TEMP WASH option if available.

Check for water hardness. Water hardness can be determined by the local water supply company, water treatment company or via a water hardness test kit, which can be found at local part distributors or hardware stores. In areas where the water hardness is 12 grains or higher, some kind of water softening is recommended. For very hard water a home water softening system would be recommended.

Always use fresh detergent, the older the detergent (About one year) the less effective it is at cleaning dishes
tip

Water softener salt bridging

One of the most frequent problems with water softening systems is salt bridging in the salt/brine tank. There are several reasons for salt bridging to occur. This generally occurs when pellet type salts or potassium chloride is used to regenerate the water softening system. Pellet type salts contain binding agents that in turn give the salt a very starchy consistency when wet. As water evaporates in the brine tank the pellet salts partially dissolve, bind together and form a "salt bridge" in the tank. Potassium chloride (Kcl) acts in the same way. Excess water in the salt tank, with high salt levels, can also cause salt bridging. Improper softener brining and lack of proper brine refill will cause bridging to occur as well.

What is the best way to alleviate these problems?

1. When using pellet type salts or potassium chloride only keep the salt tank about 1/2 full. This prevents too much compaction of the salts and helps to prevent bridging. When using potassium chloride get the salt tank off the floor on a wooden platform to prevent wicking of moisture from concrete floors.

2. Use a high grade of salt. Most water treatment dealers use either
DuraCube or HardiCube water softener salts produced by Cargill Corp.
Cargill has a link to find dealers in your area.
https://saltapps.cargill.com/cargillsalt/product_locator_new.asp

Solar Salt is another option as the crystal structure is very hard and virtually impossible to bridge. This is also available from many Cargill salt dealers and in stores.

3. Let the salt tank run down to 80-100lbs of salt or potassium a couple times per year to help prevent buildup of dissolved salts in brine tank.

4. Yearly maintenance of the water treatment system helps also. Restrictions in the brining system (injector/eductor assembly) caused by sediment and oxidized iron buildup cause improper brining and too much water in salt tank during refill. Have this assembly cleaned yearly. Have the water tested to see if the water chemistry or usage have changed and adjustments to the system are necessary.

5. Avoid using rock salts to prevent buildup of sediment in brine tank (which causes service problems).

Practice these tips and you will have fewer water softener problems and more consistent quality softened water.

I wish you good water!

Bosch 125fx heater barely heats water

1) Recommend replacing tankless with ordinary tank-type gas water heater.

http://hometips.me/Mar/Which-is-best-gas-water-heater.pdf

2) Tankless cannot be exposed to more than 11 grains hardness in water or unit will fail within 2-5 years. Water softener is required.
http://hometips.me/Tls/Battelle_Water-softening-research.pdf

3) Descaling tankless water heater each year will not restore functionality, or restore efficiency of tankless, nor restore full efficiency to tank-type gas water heater.

4) Bradford White side-by-side testing research comparing their tankless with their tank-type shows that tankless will save $1-8 per month on energy bill vrs ordianry tank-type ....but conclude that tankless 'fall far short of payback' due to maintenance, repair, installation and replacement costs.
Study compared full cost, and not just monthly energy bill, since All costs are energy.

Hello

Select a longer dishwasher cycle to see if this solves the issue. Longer cleaning time sometimes cleans dishes better.

Test the water hardness in your home with a water hardness testing kit, using the instructions on the label. Install a water softener if the water hardness is too high.

Check your water meter for water pressure in the home. Water should be between 20 to 120 lbs. per square inch (PSI) for proper cleaning.

Pour water into the detergent tray to break up any caked on detergent and prevent clogging.

Unscrew the washing arm using a wrench and remove the strainer basket. Clean out the strainer to remove any excess debris.

How do i set my aquafine water softener for 4 people I'm not sure how to set the dials ...gallons , regeneration ? Could you provide a photo showing the dials?

I will simplify it. Your softener has a given capacity (IE: 30k, 40k, 45k 60k) Determine the capacity.
Water hardness x # of people x 75 = Total hard water used per day.
Example: 20gpg hard x 4 x 75 = 6000 grains per day
45k capacity - 6000 (1 day capacity in reserve) = 39k capacity
Set to 1950 gallons @ (12lb salt dose)
System regenerates every 6-7 days

My Bosch Classixx dishwasher is using all the salt in one wash. Why and how do I resolve?

In order to rinse dishes and glasses satisfactorily, the dishwasher requires soft water, i.e. containing little or no lime, otherwise water stains will be left behind on crockery and glasses, etc. If the tap water exceeds a certain level of hardness, it must be softened, i.e. decalcified, so that it can be used in the dishwasher. his is achieved by adding a special salt to the water softener inside the dishwasher. The water softener, that is the required amount of salt, is set up according to how hard the tap water is.

Setting up the water softener

Determine the level of hardness of your tap water. Your local water company or service agent can help you with this. Identify setting from the following water hardness table.

Press and hold the B programme button, and set the main switch to ON, before releasing the programme button again.

The indicator lamp for the B button flashes, as does the figure in the numerical display. The latter represents the value that was preset in the factory.

To change the setting:

Press the B programme button.

Every time the button is pressed, the figure increases by one. After reaching 7 the display starts at 0 again.

Set the main switch OFF. The new setting is stored in the appliance’s memory.

Approx. 4 litres of water are required for regenerating the water softening system. The overall water consumption per load can therefore be increased by between 0 and a maximum of 4 litres according to the water hardness setting.

We have a fairly new Kenmore Elite front loading washing machine. We also have rather hard water here in Indiana. Problem is, water softeners do not seem to work. The manual says that the liquid water...

Hello, I would like to help with your dilemma. First, adding a Liquid or Powder Softening agent to the Wash or Rinse Cycle of a Washing Machine when using extremely Hard Water as the source is trying to treat the symptom and not fix the cause. These pre-packaged Softening agents are filled with Salts that attempt to mix with the Hard Water Minerals and Neutralize them so the soaps can saturate the water and supposedly clean the clothes more effectively. However, the Hard Water Minerals are still trapped in the water supply with these Salts because they are not removed. And, the manufacturers of these Salt Based Softening Agents have no idea of what level of Hardness (Calcium and Magnesium Carbonates) exist from City to City, State to State, or in private Well water supplies. So, if they provide 200 parts per million of Salts in their package, but the Water Hardness is 600 parts per million of Calcium and Magnesium Carbonates, there is no way the Salts will be effective. With "Traditional" Whole House Water Softening, the Water Treatment Appliance actually removes the Hard Water Minerals before the water is distributed to the entire home or business, then allowing the Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Water Heater, Showers, Bathtubs, and other water bearing appliances to perform their tasks as specified by their manufacturer. These Water Softeners typically attach to the main water line of the entire home or business, and virtually exchange equal amounts of Salt for equal amounts of Hardness regardless of the incoming hardness rating. Then, as the total capacity of the Softener becomes exhausted for the batch of water it has treated, the Control Valve automatically Regenerates the system with a new batch of Salt-Softened Water to use in the home or business. And, when you treat the water for the entire home, you reap the benefits of Protecting ALL of the Plumbing, Fixtures, Faucets, Valves, Appliances, and other household items from Scale and Hard Water Destruction.
