Clean the flame sensor.
If your furnace lights and the gas stays on for 8 to 10 seconds, then shuts
right back off, then you need to clean your flame sensor with light sand paper
or steel wool. You might need a new flame sensor, but most of the time they can
be cleaned an will work well after cleaning.

Hello. a soft lockout typically happens when
1) the flame sensor is not detecting the flame
2) pressure switch fails to close
Since your burners are not igniting I would check the pressure switch, make sure there is no obstruction in the flue pipe, the hose going from inducer to pressure switch is not kinked, loose, obstructed, or have water in it. If that all checks out good then your pressure switch is bad and must be replaced. If you need any further assisatnce let me know
SOURCE: Oil furnace is in lockout
Ok well this usually is a fairly major problem. any "lock out" is.
It has locked out due to the fact that some sort of potential catastrophic problem was about to or had eventuated, and subsequently the safety & protection mechanism has shut it down.
I doubt a reset will make any difference, however removing the battery backup, if any, and removing from the mains will effectively reset the device. Some had a small hole and a button to reset the unit micro.
I must always recommend due to safety concerns that any lock out conditions, be attended to by a professional, always ask, for a "quote" before allowing any repair work to be undertaken.

There is either a problem with the ignitor or the flame sensor.
