Try manually moving the knob through each cycle until it gets back to the finished cycle. or the timer may need to be replaced

Kenmore washing machine doesn't always spin.

I guess when it spins OK. When it doesn't spin, can you just turn the knob a little to put into spin cycle, or can you wiggle the knob up down side to side and possibly engage spin cycle? If so the switch is not making proper contact. You can continue to operate in the above manner or you can have the switch replaced. The switch could cost quite a bit along with labor and the machine may not be worth it. Your choice of which way you want to go. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

When our washer is done with the wash cycle, it doesn't drain the water out and so when it's on the spin cycle, the knob just ticks through it. What could be the problem for the water not draining out, a...

The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Whirlpool washer won't rinse or spin w/o manually turning knob

It is most likely that you have a faulty water inlet valve. Some machines have a seperate valve for rinse to flush in a fabric softener I suspect that your detergent flushing valve is faulty.....Good luck Nomess

Ariston A1635 Margherita Control knob spinning

According to the instruction book - it appears the machine has been stopped mid cycle then re-started.
Switch machine off, turn control knob to a solid circle symbol (they are after every set cycle). Switch machine back on and lights will flash and program is reset. You can then select wash cycle as normal.

Hi. your problem is actually a rather complicated one.

Timer and selector switches The timer switch is usually the largest dial on the main control panel. It can be either a mechanical device much like a simple clock, or completely electronic with just a digital readout.

The timer runs the washing machine in a pre-determined pattern. It provides the electricity to all of the washing machine components at the correct time and for the correct length of time.

The Start switch is usually part of the timer knob. When you set the timer to the proper cycle, you either pull or push the timer knob to start the cycle.

The selector switches or knobs vary from machine to machine. Most washing machines have one or several switches or knobs on the control panel besides the Timer/Start switch. These let you adjust certain settings; for example, the water temperature, spin speed, timer cycle, and so on. Normally, the washing machine completes the cycle selected on the timer, regardless of how you set these switches and knobs.
