Question about Audiovox VE927 9 in. Portable TV

The screen of our Audiovox under cabinet tv VE927 went dark although the sound was still functioning. I turned it off and then on again and the picture came back. Another brand that I had started doing that and eventually it went totally dead. Any ideas?

We have repaired one only loose solder on the inverter. and re-heat the ic with a hot air.

The sound turn on but there is no picture


Most of the time you can unplug wait a few then replug and turn it back on and the picture will come back on.

I went through the manual.........

In this manual it is given if there is no picture : The region number of the disc doesn't match the region number of this unit.

Please read this manual and i hope it will solve your problem......

Sound but no picture


The first thing that comes to mind is that the brightness and contrast or turned all the way down. See if you can't turn them up. Otherwise it may be the backlight inverter or backlight itself. Most likely the inverter, sometimes you can tell by looking really close to the screen, if you can still see a faint image then the inverter needs to be replaced. Probably a job for a technician but that depends how comfortable you feel opening up the TV and ordering parts online.

When I turn on tv the picture comes on for about a second then goes dark. Sound works perfectly. Same thing occurs with every other channel. Same thing happens in dvd mode., sound but no picture. I have...


Sounds like it could be a bad inverter for the screen lamp. If it is a bad inverter and the tv is still under warranty you should send it back for a replacement or repair. If the tv is not under warranty and you have some experience working on electronic devices you could probably find a replacement inverter online and replace the bad one.

Tv screen went black and no sound


Look at the power supply first; look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Please post back what you find. It sounds like at least you do have the 5V standby power supply working but the main supply is not getting the 'ON' command from the main board, or the power supply is gettin ght e 'ON' signal but failed to turn on.

Just a really dark screen on all functions


If you are still under warranty try calling audiovox customer support at this telephone number 1-800-645-4994. Give them the model number of you dvd player and tell them the problem you are having with the dark screen. If you are not under warranty, You can still call them and ask them where to get service for bad power inverter or a bad back light problem. If they cannot help you you can go to this website http://www.lcdparts.net/Default.aspx They do all kinds of LCD repairs and also have a technical help telephone number. 1-877-870-0581. Give them a call and tell them the name of your dvd player and the model number and see if they can help you get repair service for it. I hope this information will help you with your problem.

Turns on But No Picture and No Sound


sounds like it could be a cabling issue, try replacing the cabling (if you have another tv, you can borrow the cabling before purchasing new set of cabling)

TV combo does not have any power. Outlet is working.


Mine just did the same thing and it is only 5 days old. you will find the fuses are ok and the main transformer is gone. this is what is up with mine.
