SOURCE: raising bobbin thread

These machines are timed by belt and go out of time a lot. Check and see that when the needle passes through the plate and travels upward 1/8" at this point the rotating hook should be right behind and above the eye in the needle,my guess is that it is out probably 1 tooth on the timing belt and can usually be corrected by removing the bobbin case and holding the rotating hookk with on ehand and forcing the handwheel with the other hand which will cause the belt to jump a cog and should put your machine back in time I hope this helps

SOURCE: Singer Concerto 9217 - problem threading bobbin

thread the same way as for sewing. put empty bobbin case in bottom. close slide plate only to red button, not all the way. wrap thread from needle around bolt that holds on the presser foot (or just hold it tight). press pedal to sew. bobbin should wind. when done, shut slide plate all the way and sew.

if this doesn't work, try using a pin to push down the center of the bobbin when the slide plate is in winding position - the little catch on the bottom of the plate breaks easily and then the bobbin won't wind without a little help.

SOURCE: how to thread the bobbin on a singer simple sewing machine

Drop-in bobbin: Note: thread must change direction when entering bobbin shuttle notch. Usually bobbin will turn counter-clockwise when threaded properly.

1. hold bobbin so that the tail of thread is facing to left.
2. drop bobbin into bobbin shuttle.
3. pull thread toward you.
4. guide thread into notch and pull to left so that slot engages thread.
5. pull thread diagonally across shuttle toward back of machine.
6. draw bobbin thread up through needle plate with threaded needle.

How to thread tension on my L47 singer sewing machine

Threading and tension are two different things.

You can search for a manual:
Make Model manual
or
Make Model threading
(most machines thread similarly so even if you don't find your specific model, the instructions would be helpful)

https://www.manualslib.com/products/Singer-L47-4062252.html

When threading, be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot so the thread will seat completely in the tension disk.

For tension, generally start with the tension set at the midway point. Tension is correct when the top and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric. If the bobbin thread is showing on the fabric top, loosen the top tension. If the top thread is showing on the underside of the fabric, tighten the top tension. Do not adjust the bobbin tension until it has been determined that the top tension does not make the adjustments needed. (Bobbin tension is sensitive--a little change makes a big affect so you will need to know how to reverse any changes you make.)

Model 7043 Imperial. how do I pick up bobbin tread?

Install a brand new needle--make sure the flat side is facing the correct direction. Remove all the thread. RAISE the presser foot and rethread everything from the beginning. Make sure the bobbin is threaded properly.

Hand rotate the handwheel one full turn and see if it picks up the bobbin thread. If not, make sure you are using the correct needles.

Open the bobbin door and while watching the needle action, watch when the needle comes down, is it looping to catch the bobbin thread? If it's not, then it could be a needle/hook timing problem.

Please help I have a singer 140 imperial anniversary edition model 7050 sewing machine, I cannot figure out how to wind the bobbin desperate!! Thank you!

Well, the good news is you can download your user's manual free if you go to the Singer Sewing Machine site. Just select Support, and there is an Instruction Manual option. Enter the model number, 7050, and it is pictured and explained there, beginning on page 15.

You have a Touch 'n Sew slant needle machine, which means you can buy additional feet, as long as they are slant needle ones, and they're very widely available.

Another good feature is those machine wind the bobbin right in place. I have had several of these machines for many years, and frankly, it's my favorite, most trouble-free method.

Bobbins are also widely available; however, your bobbin is available with or without a center button. Yours HAS the center button.

Singer touch sew 645

Singer website has a plethora of manuals to download, http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals is the link, your manual is there for $15. If the bobbin thread is knotting up in the bobbin then I'd say you need to rewind a fresh bobbin and make sure it is smooth with even tension as it goes onto the bobbin. If your bobbin thread looks a bit chunky and uneven, then you won't get good results from it. Also, check that you are putting the bobbin into the bobbin case the right way, the thread needs to come off the bobbin and make a reverse direction into the tension spring (assuming yours is a removeable bobbin case, not top loading)
