Some kind of wiring/control issue, although it may be the thermostat in the oven making the noise and needs to be replaced

Glow bar lights up, but oven does not heat up all the way to desire temperature.

You oven sensor is what detects the temp and relays it back to the control.
Here it is: $75 bucks for the exactamundo
You can buy an oven sensor on ebay way cheaper. Replacement is easy.
Sometimes if the connection is corroded you can bypass it and it will magically work some more.
Just check it for 1100 ohms at 75 degrees and make sure ether wire is not grounded .

If the connected looks contaminated cut it out and bypass it. That might be all it takes.
The new part will come needing to be spliced in.

If the sensor is fine then the oven control is what will need to be replaced.

The oven doesn't come close to keeping a REASONABLE temperature. It fluctuates sometimes 75-100 degrees. I'm not talking about opening the door and then waiting to re-establish the temperature it was set...

If you just bought it, have it replaced, or repaired under warranty. If it is an old oven, replace the temp probe first (if it electric) It senses the temp inside oven, It is the least expensive part of the fix. If that doesn't work, replace thermostat/temp control board. When you replace a board, you replace the probe too. It will be needed either way. If just changing the probe works, you saved yourself some money.

Oven not heating properly

Hello- Sometimes ignitors work enough to light burner, but not enough to step up gas flow at regulator. Lower burner ignitor is bad if resistance is less than 4ohms. New part through local app. parts store.- 50-75$. Ignitor is mounted next to burner under bottom pan in oven. Plug is behind pan drawer. Fairly easy to replace. hope this helps- Thanks- ED

Oven sometimes doesn't heat up. Sometimes heats up to desired temp, then quits working. Sometimes doesn't even heat up at all. When preheated light comes on, thermometer in oven usually says about 100...

This sounds like a weak igniter, it would have to be a gas oven and the symtoms usually are: takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature, eventually won't heat at all. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, needs to be replaced. Good luck.

Oven temperature does not get hot enough.

Hi, It sounds like the ignitor might be getting weak and opening the gas valve conditantly. Try setting a temperature and watch to see the ignitor glow. The flame should ignite within 30-45 seconds. If the flame ignites to heat rith away, it should get up to temp before shutting down.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further with this issue.

Thanks
Vic

Oven won't heat up at all.

broiler on top of oven?? if so it might have a second ignitor that is working. Most units now with gas have an electric ignitor to start gas ovens. What they do is send electric current through an electric "wire", when enough current is flowing through wire to open gas valve the wire is hot enough to ignite the gas flowing over it. When you turn on the oven look at the burner and after 1 imute or so you should be able to see an Orange glow in bottom of oven if not I'm sure its the ignitor, if glows then probably oven valve is bad. I'd guess ignitor because most oven makers use this ignitor to mantain a warming temp (around 100 degree's) so since your display doesnt register over inital "start" temp of 75, i'd bet ingitor not coming on at all

Ge stove

Replace the temperature sensor inside the oven cavity. It looks like a small metal rod. Be aware you will never get an accurate temperature reading with those cheap 5 dollar things. After the oven is preheated, you must wait 10 minutes and take a reading. Some models have a temperature adjustment, it's listed in the owners manual.
