Agp and pci slots not working

I was recently in a different state for the summer. My dad had taken a 512 mb ram out of my computer after I left. When I got back, my computer would come on but my wireless internet pci card wasn't working. After installing the drivers again and restarting it, there is no signal to the monitor at all. I know it works because the screen shows when my hd up-convert dvd player is plugged into it. It has a 1 gb stick of ram in it still.

I am a gamer and p5vdc-mx has only agp slot and i want 1gb vga card but it is harder to find in agp slot i find only pci express x16 cards can i use riser card to convert agp to pci e x16

Hello
I dont think there are any agp to pci ex riser cards. As pci e x16 is part of the motherboard circutry.

There are pci to agp riser cards. If your going to be playing some of the latest games. Most games in the past 3 yrs require a pci x16 vid card.

I suggest geting another motherboard,chipset,and memory.Along with a Pci e x 16 card min 512mb.

Will 9500 GT either 512 mb or 1 gb work on intel la crosse D865GLC board..?? it has 3 pci slots 32-bit long..

Yes you can.
For 512 Mb RAM you can use a single 512 Mb memory module or two 256 Mb memory modules.
For 1 Gb RAM you can use a single 1 Gb memory module or two 512 Mb memory modules.

My everex computer has 448 mb of ram i would like

Actually your computer does have 512 RAM. The 64 MB discrepancy is what the graphics memory uses. 64 + 448 = 512, get it?

If you want it to show full 512 MB, you need to install a separate video card. Refer to your PC's manual and see if it has a separate AGP or PCI-E slot.

If it has then you can choose from the many available in the market.

You can choose between having a low end low cost or a high end one designed for gaming. Just choose what suits you best and remember that a higher power card requires proper cooling and higher wattage PSU (power supply).

Note that no matter how much RAM is installed, some portion of it will be used for graphical operations.

Video upgrade

it depends upon your mb. some mb can support pci and agp . some of them support pci and pci-ex . so if your mb has agp or pci-ex slot than you have to buy a video card according to that. video cards range from 128mb to 1024 mb. you have to check your motherboard specification which card it can support. also it depends upon the power supply unit. need at least 300 watts for 128 mb - 256 mb card.

Which slot?!

Most things in a PC fit in one slot, and no other...so that will help us here. The color also is a non-factor, since vendors use a lot of different colors.

An AGP slot is typically one of the slots closest to your CPU. It will also be set back in relation to the PCI slot below it, and they typically have a latch on them. Here is a picture of what it should look like (PCI is the bottom, AGP is the top). Also, if you look close enough you should see a name by the slot, like in the picture. If you don't have an AGP slot, they sell PCI versions also. If you have a long slot with the short part opposite of the PCI shown below (on the left instead of the right), then you have PCI Express.bec65de.jpg

Video card

Hi Yosemic..

Bad news for you... your computer don't have an AGP or PCI-e slot, so a video card upgrade is possible, but no recommended cause you will have to buy a PCI VGA (very slow).

Your computer only have 3 PCI slots as you can see at this link
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim2400/en/sm_en/specs.htm

Better buy a new one..
