WDI12C Machine Will Not Drain - Error Code E06

Hi All,

My Smeg WDI12C is about 15 months old and will not drain waste water and end of cycle:

- machine displays error code E06 aftre draining phase and before spin
- water is not drained

My first analysis I found:

- the waste tubes are not blocked
- the drain pump filter is free of blockage
- waste water reaches the end of the external waste pipe

I removed the pump it works when tested with 240v applied directly so that is not the problem.

I have removed and checked pressure switch and diaphram is ok and I can blow through small tube and hear air in drum.

Does this sound like a control issue? A similar post on here (for error code E05) said that they rest the unit with guidence from Smeg over the phone (but my warrenty has run out).

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Chris

- Sorry about late reply but turned out to be the pump - checked power to pump using multimeter.

-   My machine will wash and spin perfectly but will not dry. I either end up with a hot soggy mess because it did not drain or I get the E06 error code and it stops.-   Benebear

This is a useless machine. I had it and after about 14 months, in quick succession, the pump broke and then the timer broke. A friend with the same machine had the same experience. AVOID!

remove the two wires from pump connect two wires with a test bulb. this would eliminate the control issue if the bulb lights. 240 volt bulb. take it from there

ok this is gr8. Has happened to me as well. Twice. So 22 months into warranty the machine wont go from wash into spin, e06 and all that. Got the engineer who replaced the computer. Sorted- not quite. only lasted for 3 months. Now I am out of warranty but being persistent and threatening consumer action the engineer is coming back tomorrow. Lets see what happens and will update. I think this machine is **** and probably i am saving money for a meile
