SOURCE: Microwave won't work
F6 usually means a fault in the controller or keypad. You could try to unplug it for several minutes, then plug it back in. If it still fails, maybe you or a friend can disconnect the power cord, unplug the keypad strip internally, then plug the power cord back in and try it with the keypad still disconnected. If it does not fail again, you have a wet or shorted keypad and can dry it or order one. If it does fail again, the control board is bad. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number (without the suffix) here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383 Sorry I didn't get to answer this before the bogus answer was posted. I've been tied up and away from the PC.
SOURCE: Microwave auto-starts when door is closed
the buttons recently stopped working sporadically and now everytime I open the door, the unit turns on. The only solution was unplugging.. Is there a fix short of replacing it?
SOURCE: Microwave won't START!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's usually a broken tab on the upper switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate
just out of position.
This tab
can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.
While replacing the switch holder is the preferred solution, using hot glue to secure the switch to the holder is much easier and quicker. Just be sure not to let the door be slammed from now on.
We have the R1480 service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you. You will need the free Adobe Reader to view or print it.

SOURCE: GE JVM1650 Microwave Making Loud Noise
hello Frank. Sorry to tell you that the magnetron is going bad and making that terrible noise. Since the inside of a microwave, even unplugged has up to 2000 residual and deadly volts of electricity I recommend either calling a pro or replacing the unit.
SOURCE: Sharp Insight Pro microwave drawer KB6024MS not working
The drawer often stops working when it is abruptly stopped while
opening and forced closed or vice-versa. To fix, simply do the
following:
1) Push the draw all the way closed
2) Push the "Setup" button repeatedly until the "Open/Close ...?" appears.
3) Hold the Start Button until the time reappears in the display.
4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 three more times
5) Unplug the Microwave for 30 minutes.
The
drawer is now reset. The drawer will now open electronically
(automatically) either by pushing the open button on the panel or by
pulling the drawer handle slightly.
