Can you please tell me how to detach the door of a Tecnik se6tie1gb/13 diashwasher from the inside of the decorative outer cabinet door?

few things - the techik dishwashers are rebaged Siemens dishwasher. You have the correct model number but for a minor mistake - the "l" is actually a "1". Should be se6tie1gb/13

The recall is only for freestanding or semi intergrated d/w. If your control panel is along the top of the door it is not subject to the recall.

I am not sure about which way the door comes off but I know of a company called Appliance Art that makes covers for existing appliances.

Hi - heres the instructions for you - have fun.....

Removal of Cabinet

(Do not use decorative panel to move the machine)

1. Isolate power supply.

2. Remove service and decorative panels (refer Section 6.1).

3. Ease machine forward for all round access. Be careful not to damage floor coverings.

4. Remove two screws from bottom sides of cabinet rear.

5. Remove the top screws on left and right hand sides of the cabinet rear.

6. Remove two screws securing the rear bottom panel.

7. Remove five screws securing the stainless steel frame to cabinet wrapper at front of machine. These are located behind the sound gasket and service panel.

8. Withdraw the cabinet assembly away from the machine.

Refitting: Refit in reverse manner. Fitting the top centre screw in the cabinet wrapper first, makes fitting the cabinet easier.

6.9 Removal of Door Tension Springs

(Do not use decorative panel to move the machine)

Location: The door tension springs are located either side of the machine and are

fitted to the chassis base and door quadrants by means of the end hooks of

these springs.

After isolating the machine from the power supply:

1. Ease machine forward for all round access.

2. Remove service panel (Refer Section 6.1).

3. Remove two screws in the cabinet wrapper exposed by the Service Panel.

4. Remove the springs from the quadrants and the chassis base using pliers.

Refitting: Refit in reverse manner.

6.10 Removal of Hinge Assemblies

(Do not use decorative panel to move machine)

Location: The hinge assemblies are located either side of the door and retained by means of two rivets on each side to the inner door panel.

After isolating the machine from the power supply:

1. Remove service & decorative panels (refer Section 6.1).

2. Remove outer door panel (refer Section 6.2).

3. Remove cabinet (refer Section 6.7).

4. Remove door tension springs (refer Section 6.8).

5. Remove quadrant grommets.

6. Open door fully and drill out the two rivets from the hinge assembly on inner door panel.

7. Hinge assembly can now be removed from inner door and cabinet.

Note: Hinges should be replaced one at a time. Repeat procedure six and seven for other hinge. Hinge guide quadrants can now be removed by depressing sides and pulling free of slot if need be.

Refitting: Refit in reverse manner using 3/16 monal rivets to secure the hinges to the inner door.

Drawer comes out. There are little plastic fingers inside the track that you can see when drawer is pulled all the way out.

You can try reseting the machine buy holging down outside two cycle buttons for 3 seconds, then release. After a minute the end light should come on. Then use as normal. If this fails pull the unit out, then take of the side panels (screws to the front in the seal) & check the red anti-flood float on the left side of the machine, to make sure it is not up activating the cut out switch. This may be due to the machine leaking somewhere and the float raises and activates the switch, or as in my case a build up of limscale has raised it up enough to activate it.

You need to disassemble the door and reassemble with the inner glass well in place, no need for a new door.
If the glass is damaged, call manufacturer and replace glass.
If some other part on the frame has bent, replace the faulty part.
The whole door is expensive.

To replace or refit the door glass you can do the following:

0 Check if there is a hinge stop bracket located at the hinge point of entry on the oven, in that case remove it.
1 remove the oven door by pulling it up and removing from the the hinges. If glass is broken , then secure glass with tape. Have a table with a cloth on top ready to lay the door.
2 Remove the outer screws , starting from lower side of the panel.
3Removethe inner screws. Keep all set of screws ordered, and take note of theorder you remove them. You will follow reverse order in reassembly.
4 the frame will be free now,
5 Remove the external glass panel and leave it in a safe place.
6 Replace the inner glass.
7 Clean outer glass and metal door, re-assemble it and mount it back
