SOURCE: Fading black print

Is the toner orginal?
Try printing a test page and see how that comes out?
Try shaking the toner it might be stuck on one side.

Thanks

SOURCE: faded print quality

If your toner saver is off and still getting faded quality means you mirrors and Scanning Lamp are not reflecting images properly.
Now if you are handy on printer then you need to take off glass
bb15714.jpg from printer then you need to clean ADF units (mirrors, lense lamp etc)

metering blade is gunked up. You need to dissasemble part of the imaging unit to fix the problem. Clean it. put it back together and BINGO! Like new. Do this before throwing money into buying a new imaging unit.. You can thank me when this works

SOURCE: Hi, I have a brother

the printer doesnt accept the recycled toner and due to recycling or refilling the toner it might show invalid toner if you can print then there is no problem ignore it as long as print goes if the error code is poping up i think you will have to replace the toner

Faded printing

Clean the toner roller blades

You Tube Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ipw1RjwzUDg

Shows you the problem & how to fix it. There's a metal blade on the edge of each toner roller which can get clogged with small bits of toner & prevent even distribution. Clean the blade with a lolly stick & put it back together.

I tried this with CLP 320 cartridge - same principle but can be messy because the cartridge is full of toner powder.

Does an old PHD cause faded colors?

the PHD transfers the image to the printed page and when it starts to go bad the images can become dull or faded and even blurry or totally missing. Id recommend the PHD be replaced and it should resolve your issues.

The black is ghosting and text is fading out completly on right hand side

Hi

For ghost printing, i suggest you clean the fuser roller inside the cartridge compartment by a cotton swab with water and remove all the toner dirt on the roller. For faded print outs, the problem is the toner is near to end, Just replace new toner cartridge. Try also to shake the cartridge to distribute evenly the toner power.

Please let me know if you need more help

My CP1515n colour laser is giving faded colours. The left side of the print is very faded whereas the rest of the print is slightly faded

There are two reasons for faded prints. Firstly, faded print could be due to exhausting toner.
If it you have faded prints even after replacing the toner cartridge or if your current cartridge has enough toner, it is most likely be due to dust/ toner dust accumulated at the laser reflecting mirrors inside the printers,
which partially blocks laser beams and requires cleaning/ servicing by a professional.
Hence, it is recommended that you get the printer checked/ serviced from authorized service center.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

I have a Samsung SCX 4200 laser printer. It was fine for the first two years but then I started having problems with the print on the edges of my pages being lighter/faded. This is of the last six months....

Confirm what the dude told you, then act. Lots of folks out there do not really know what they are talking about and not even familiar with Ohm's law.

Drums do also go bad and have to be replaced. Surprised to hear hear that on your machine they are together. Didn't you say you just replaced the toner? So how could they be an ensemble?!

Print quality: dark faded, but continuous

Open top cover and remove toner, shake toner cartridge and try a test print. IF image good then problem is low toner level in cartridge.

Hi when printing black or grey outside edges

sounds like your black toner cartridge is getting low or not filled evenly. To fix this until it get a bit lower on toner just take the cartridge out and holding it up right give it a few shakes side to side. The will spread the toner power out inside and you should be printing normally again.

This can also happen if you moved or bumped the printer. Usually you only see this when the toner is low or after you print a lot of pages. Most text is in the mid of the paper so thats where the toner get s used the most.

Color toners are empty

Press Green Tick, Right, -> System Setup -> Right, Right, -> Print Quality, Right -> Replace Supplies. Change from stop at out, to override at out. It'll let you print, and you'll get loads more out of your toner before the pages start to fade.

BLACK SMUDGING

Hmm... This sounds like it is a toner problem. If your roller is getting too much toner then it just globs it onto the paper even though the drum is not asking for it. Are you using a new toner cartridge or a re-filled one? Is it from Brother or a 3rd party? I suggest you remove the toner cartridge and check inside the printer. Clean any spilled toner. Check the toner cartridge for leaks .. give it a good shake and see if it is leaking. If you have another toner cartridge, you can replace it to test. You may need to pint a few pages to see a change. Another test could be to print a few (2-5) "BLANK" pages. The printer should not be depositing any toner. If no smudge or the smudge stays the same, then the toner cartridge is the likely problem. If the smudge is there, but gets smaller, then clean your printer.

Good luck!
