Question about Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital Camera

1 Answer

The camera fell off a desk onto a carpeted floor while uploading pics to the computer. Now the lens will not close properly and I keep getting a "lens error" message. Nothing looks cracked. Can this be fixed?

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here are some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct your problem. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them. As you stated that the lens is bent, you may need to start with Fix 7 first to straighten the lens first, before proceeding with the other fixes.

The base of my monitor keeps separating

Good day to you. This is simply a loose base connector problem. The best way to tighten the base onto the monitor is to apply adhesive pastes like "mighty bond" or you can also tie a rubber bond onto it. Thank you and hope it helps.

I uploaded pics from my computer onto my Camera SDPhotosmart M537

If I understand you correctly, you put pics onto the SD card using the computer, then put the card in the camera and now can't see the pics? Is that correct? The camera won't recognize the pics because it uses a different recording system than the computer. Now if you want to take more pictures using that card, you will need to format it in the camera first.

When I plug my camera into computer there is no option to upload the photos onto computer...how can I do this?

hi there
if you open my computer on your desk top you should see your camera as another hard drive with an icon or a letter f.g.h.
double click it and inside will be 2 or 3 folders , one of which will have your pics in
then just copy and paste them where you want them.

hope this helps
