Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
If the unit is within the warranty period of one year. Then you can call 1-800-4my-xbox and request that Microsoft repair it. They will ship you a box and then ship back a replacement unit. If you call and the repair does not fall under their warranty then you can either send it in to Microsoft who will collect your credit card info and bill you to repair it. (Usually around 99 USD, plus shipping) or you can purchase a new "Arcade: version for 129.99 and attach your hard drive to that to continue playing. Some local repair shops may be able to fix it if it is out of warranty.
Now if you opt to get a new one, DO NOT throw the old unit away. Collect the cables and power supply and the unit and take it to your local Gamestop store who will issue you a credit for some money on your old system. It wont be much but it is better than tossing it away.
