I think I ran a staple through the machine and it doesn't work now.

The new staples aren't in correctly of the last staple in the old magazine, is jammed that the end. You should try to never run completely out.

does the stapler tryes to staple or it is not moving?

If it does try to staple, then you are probably right regarding the streched spring. Try to tense them and see if it will work.

This is problem that can't be solved without seeing the machine, call service...

I have one right here. Push the button in the back (above where the power cord enters the machine.) The tray holding the strips of staples should pop out of the front of the machine. If it doesn't, try grasping under the staple tray and gently pull the tray out while pushing the button in back.

The button is a release button, while the tray is spring loaded to pop out..

Your printer doesn't support automatic stapling, In fact it doesn't support much at all. It is a single funcion printer meaning that it doesn't have fax or scanning, printing only. You would of got it for about $50 right? Sorry but it has no stapler.

Try loading with fewer staples to see if that helps and make sure there are no loose staples jamming the mechanism.

take out the staple cartridge and in the clear plastic you will see the arrow engraved the white box also has a arrow these two have to overlap each other to open the case it has two little tabs at the bottom press them in might wanna use a pen or something and the top part will pop up just pull it out

The trick to clearing this is to rn the stapler WITHOUT the cartridge in. We removed several visible jams, but once we ran it with the cartridge out, a huge piece of staple came out, and then we were able to put the cartridge back in and use it. Woot!

Have you tried the staple setup procedure, or maybe swap the Finisher DC Controller off the Finisher that the known-good stapler carraige came from? I think DC Controller.
