- same prombel here. PLs help .i reformat compaq presario c700 with windows xp. after format fails, power is on but dont boot. i tried to boot on cd, but optical drive led keep on blinking but lcd is all black with a cursor blinking on upper laeft.nothing happen then. i try reseated the ram to the other slot but still dont work- edrich629Dec 07, 2007

I have the same problem. Every time I would try to boot after installnig XP, it would just go into black screen without booting. I would have to hard reset a few times until finally it would boot. It did this ALL THE TIME. So after I reformatted and installed VISTA, it didn't do it as much, but it still does it occasionally. Is this a power problem or something?
