SOURCE: need Bios password on Mirra M-400

BIOS passwords are usually unique, set by other users, administrators, or by accident.

In the case of the latter, you *might* be able to contact tech support for your unit (find # in owner's manual) and see if they are able to generate one based on information found on / in the laptop.

Hard disk upgrade

I faced the same problem i asked to the ibm people they said that non ibm hdd's are not supporting x3400 servers and they are hanging when we work with non ibm hdds. when I use segate 1 TB sata hard disk the server working fine the only problem is little bit slow for booting and programme running, this not a broblem. so pls use 1 TB sata hdds with your x3400 servers.

Via epia-5000 motherboard with Award BIOS

Couple of things you have to do...first, flash the bios with EPIA0207.BIN (using awdflash.exe). Likely you're going to have to pull that drive and reformat it, there's a great in-depth tutorial here (includes where to get the files):

I noticed that after flashing the BIOS I had to pull the CMOS battery, move the jumper on J10 to 2-3(check the corresponding manual for your board), let that sit for about 5-10 seconds, move the jumper back to 1-2 on J10, and replace the CMOS battery. As soon as all of that was done...I was in, no password required.

Beside administrator, were there any other user accounts on the machine? If so, you can log in as one of those. If they have admin rights, even better.

Depending on the lock out policy that was set in windows, try it again. In some cases, it may be a few hours, in some cases, it may be days. All depends on how the policy was set up.

If this all fails, your next option would be to reload the OS and start all over. You can use the original instal disks that came with it.

No, they won't be able to do anything for you but refund your money. I've been using the 250gig version for 2 years now and initially had problems with it. There's a diagnostic page you can run from your client that will narrow the problem down for you. It is likely to be a proxy issue or firewall port/filter that may need to be opened on your router.

Turns off by itself

Hi you can connect another additional totally empty HDD to your computer and boot thru one of the disk manager cd - its GUI based , under maintenance option it is possible to copy entire contents of existing HDD into the empty HDD you connected .If can see too much of dust accumulation then you consider the fan to be malfunctioning component else there exists a short circuit in other components.

How i can format my Mirra Personal M-120?

1. Make sure the CDROM is set as the first boot device in BIOS.
2. Insert the Windows XP/2000 cd in the CDROM
3. Restart the server
4. When 'Press any key to boot to cd' message is displayed, press any key
5. Follow the steps to reinstall the operating system, one of your options will be to format (I would recommend NTFS)

Hope that helps!
