I need a wiring diagram for a Dayton model 3E402D gas heater

I found the installation manual for several Dayton gas heaters, including the 4LX62, at Grainger: https://www.grainger.com/product/DAYTON-Gas-Unit-Heater-4LX62 . The direct link to the manual is currently https://www.grainger.com/ec/pdf/4LX68_1.pdf . Since this is a 250,000 BTU unit, the wiring diagram 5C on page 11 is the one appropriate for your unit.

I hope this helps. I could not find separate documentation for the A suffix heater. The suffix may indicate a minor difference (for example - manufactured at a specific facility) and thus the 4LX62 manual is still appropriate.

Contact Dayton on the internet for this problem. The diagram should be available on their site. Or they will give you a number for customer care. They can give you step-by-step instructions. I am a technician and this is what I would do as their are millions of wiring diagrams. Many are noy up to date.

Does the main blower fan kick on? Also, if the heater is vented outside via a flue pipe, there may be a small (about 3 or 4 inches in diameter) vent fan that kicks on to ensure the exhaust fumes are evacuated through the flue pipe. If there's a problem with that fan, the burner won't light either.

Go to your local Grainger and they will print it out for you.
