Question about VinoTemp Refrigerators

2 Answers

I have a Vinotemp 12 bottle dual zone. The upper zone works fine, the lower zone was working fine until recently. The temperature doesn't remain constant and stays too cold. The grates in the back are clean. I did a reset, which is unplugging it for 20 minutes with the door open. This worked for a few hours. Is there something else I can clean or check?

I experienced the same problem. The top wouldn't cool and the light flickered. Each cooling fan has a circuit board. Locate the 16v 1000uf compacitor on the board that wouldn't cool. If the top of the compacitor is bulged, it has to be replaced. No need to replace the circuit board. The solution is simple. Remove the circuit board and resolder in a new compacitor. Make sure you replace it with the same one. I had no luck finding them at Radio Shack, however I did locate them on e-bay.You get 10 of them for about $8.00. That's a 80cent fix if you do it yourself. Good Luck Bob C.

My top compartment isn't cooling, and interior top blue light is flickering. So I removed back panel. Top fan isn't turning. Red and green light on cicuit board are blinking. I inspected the compacitor that you mentioned. Doesn't appear to be bulged. All components on circuit board for the upper compartment appear to match up the same with the circuit board for the lower compartment which is working. Any suggestions?

Danby DWC2121BLS dual commpartment wine cooler is cooling normally but after 2 days aprox the temperature increase and beeping and flashing hi

If evaporator starts to freeze up the ice accumulated serves as an insulator and the temps go up. If you turn it off and let ice buildup melt the unit will work fine again until it refreezes.

Check if unit has a device to prevent ice build up. If so, it is not working. If warm moist air is entering the area of evaporator coil, that could also be causing the buildup.

Lower zone will not cool. 45 bottle model.

This is a VT-45 (not a TC32 as mentioned), right? If its just the lower zone that isn't cooling, it could be a few things that are happening. Most likely the fan isn't working or there is a sensor issue monitoring temperature for the lower zone. I'd recommend having a service person diagnose to be sure. Otherwise, have you contacted the manufacturer, Vinotemp, for help as of yet?

I have Vinotemp wine chiller model number VT-21TEDS-2Z. It is Dual zone and the bottom zone temperature is to low. I set it to 60 but it is at 49. The temperature controller does not seem to control it.

It will either be the thermal resistor or the controller of which the electronic thermostat is a part and yes it can be repaired. It is a reasonably common and cheap fault to repair. If you go to the following link you can get the service manual FOC

and you can contact a repair company via Vinotemp at the following link

Vinotemp 2 zone wine cooler flashes "Lo" on numeric display for lower compartment - will not hold temperature requested. Temp in upper compartment will not go below 67 even though it is set for 51. Room...

Not sure, but did you clean the filter in the back? Ours has that, and the temp starts creeping up every few weeks until I clean it. But we've never been able to get it below 58 or so, and in the last year, not below 60. I think that's just the nature of this type of cooling. Our house is also at 80. But, can keep it at 60 with the above cleaning.

Haier Dual Zone Wine Chiller - One Fan wont run

I have the same problem. When I first discovered this, both fans had stopped working and the temp for both zones was over 80. So much for the wine that had been stored there. After leaving the unit unplugged for a few days, the fan for the lower section started working again but the upper fan is still overheating. Haier customer service says too bad, so sad (I discovered this problem in the 13th month of ownership). I'm sure it is not worthwhile to fix this so it is going out with the trash and I'll look for a different brand for the next wine cellar that I purchase. Any ideas?

Vinotemp VT-16TEDS has light on but doesn't cool

First check the grating over the fan in the back. If it is covered with dust, there won't be enough air flow and the unit won't cool. Clean the dust off and see if it cools back down. It may take a long time to cool down if it is full of wine, so I recommend taking the wine out to test if it works.

MC wine cooler MCWC44DZ error code e3

I had an E3 on the upper zone. This fix was simple. Unscrew the 2 screws for the middle tray. Pull tray out as far as you can. Check the wires in the back, those are the wires for the fans in the back. The connectors over time corrode, and break off... All I did was connected the 2 wires that had broken off of their connector directly to eachother. E3 went away and the cooler is working as it should now.in
