When I turn off the blade on my JD L110 riding lawn mower the belt continues to turn the blade and thus throw the belt off. Why???

worn pullies and belts can cause this as the belt sticks in pully and then throws off because of tension removed from belt

I have a scotts 21"rear baging lawn mower model 21997x8a that keeps throwing the drive belt.i have followed the instruction in manual on replacement but it still throws the belt.what else could be wrong

Check for a bent shaft on the pully, or play in the shaft due to worn bearings on the shaft, The belt coming off is due to a misalignment of the pully with the belt.

Keeps throwing transmission belt

There are belt guides that keep the belts on. They are about as round as a pencil and maybe two or three inches long. They are adjustable, just loosen and move them in towards the pulley but not up against the pulley, and re-tighten.

MTD JE145H cutting deck keeps throwing belts

Usually the reason a mower deck is throwing its belts is there is a bearing that is starting to sieze up in one of the quill assemblies, which is the assembly that the blade is attached to . Either that or one of the belt tensioner pulleys is starting to go bad, easiest way to check this is remove the drive belt, take off the cover over the tension belt and remove that belt know check all moving parts for tightness or excessive looseness. I put a new belt on my Troy Bilt Lawn Mower and I used it to mow lawn and it chewed the new belt up

Is belt routed correctly.
Check pulleys for wear and if they spin freely
Check belt tension. Lack of sufficient tension will throw belt and destroy it
