Check your charge. Make sure you are not running a high head pressure. It might be a dirty condensor coil, or a week over load protecter on the compressor.

What causes caravan aircon to trip circuit breaker on start up

My first guess would be that the compressor has seized. If not the compressor seizing, then I would look for a short to ground in the wiring. If you pull the cover of the AC you will most likely find that the compressor motor is plugged into a receptacle. If you can unplug or otherwise disconnect the compressor motor from its' power source and activate the thermostat to run and the circuit breaker does not trip, it is the compressor motor. If the circuit breaker trips, then it's in the wiring.

Unit shuts off on hot days

It may be low on refrigerant. On hotter days, the compressor has to run longer to reach the temperature you have on your thermostat. Have it checked for the proper refrigerant charge and have them test how many amps that the compressor is pulluig as well. With the proper breaker installed, the unit should not be tripping out. Make sure that the breaker that is in there now is actually the proper one for your unit.

Domestic a/c runs fine for hours then trips circuit breaker

Check the difference between your incoming voltages at these times, it may be, if your plugged in to park power, the voltage getting to you may be less due to neighbors using more. If you have a genny, try using it when this happens and see if it trips. More lights, TV's etc are probably being used at night by others.

Possible overcharge or bad breaker. You need to check the amp draw for the unit. If you draw under full load amps and trips breaker breaker is bad.Rus

Air conditioner will trip breaker when trying to cycle back on

The compressor motor , once warm is grounding out due to wear and is going bad.Have the compressor replace while it is still clean is cheeper and easier that doing it after a burn out, which  will eventually happen,if the compressor is tripping the brreaker as I suspect..

Tripping circuit breaker

You probably have a dirty condenser coil or the con den ser fan motor is bad or the blades are jam that's why it overheat and shut off by overload.

Is your condensing unit located in a well ventilated area and have an ample space, atleast a foot, from the rooftop flooring? Just make a check that free flowing outside air properly ventilates the condensing unit specially on high ambient temperatures. Hope this would solve your problem
