SOURCE: My Dyson dc 18 slim extender wand has NO suction.

If the floor head has suction and the wand does not, or vice-versa, the white cylinder you are referring to diverts the suction between the floor head and wand. If the flimsy plastic switch used to turn the cylinder is broken, you may need a new under carriage or just set the cylinder to wand or floor manually and use it as a one dimension cleaner. Depending on your ability, perhaps the switch can be purchases and replaced by a DIYer, but the job looks moderately difficult.

How can I empty the dust from the clear plastic holder in my Dyson DC 39 upright?

Hi David, it's Jack at Dyson.

Sorry for any confusion, but DC39 is a Dyson cylinder vacuum rather than an upright. I can provide further help in emptying your particular machine, but I will need to know exactly which model you own. If possible can you double-check this for me?

If you'd prefer to get in touch with our experts directly, you're welcome to do so. You can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) 1800 239 766 (AU), or 0800 298 0298 (UK).

Intermittent motor head

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your DC35's motorised cleaner head seems to work intermittently or cuts out when moved, this suggests that there could be a loose connection somewhere. We're keen to help you check for this, and our experts can talk you through some simple diagnostic checks to pinpoint the cause of the issue. If a replacement part is needed, we can also confirm whether or not your DC35 is still covered under its Dyson warranty.

When you have your DC35 fully charged and easily to hand, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

Where is the reset button on a DC24 ball?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

In most cases, DC24's reset button should be located in a red recess on the side of the cleaner head, as shown in the video guide below. It may help to use something like the eraser-end of a pencil to press the button - you should feel a click as it engages.

Some newer DC24 variants don't include a physical reset button, and instead the reset mechanism will activate when you turn off the vacuum, then turn it back on and recline it into the normal vacuuming position.

If you can't see a reset button on either side of the cleaner head, this may be the case with your machine. If you're unable to reset the cleaner head, please contact our experts directly. You can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

My dyson dc 25 sparks near the rotator roller attachment, what can I do?

Hi Cindy, it's Jack at Dyson.

If you can see sparking coming from inside the cleaner head, please do not continue to use your machine until we can help resolve this. It's likely the cleaner head will need to be replaced - once we've taken a few further details, we'll be able to confirm if this is covered under your Dyson parts and labour guarantee.

At your earliest convenience, please call our experts directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU) for further assistance.
