Well, the first step is to make sure the sound drivers are installed properly. Does the device show up properly in the Device Manager? Does it show up in the Audio/Sounds configuration item in the Control Panel? If so, then:

Does any sound work, and it's just the extra channels that do not operate? If that is the case, you probably just need to run the configuration wizard. It sometimes sits in the tray, but almost always is available in the Control Panel. Once you run it you can pick what kind of speakers you have to control the various sound outputs properly for your setup.

My audio doesnt work cant install audiodriver for windows7

The only drivers ASUS has available for this board are for XP and earlier. If they don't work with Windows 7, you have two options. One is to install a PCI audio card in an open slot. Any new board should work with W7. The other is to use a USB sound adapter so you don't have to open the computer case. Either of these methods will get your sound back.

No audio

hi there,

If you don't have a audio driver, check your audio harware which brand is it?
First of all check which mother board are you using, if the mother board is builtin then you can find on the internet your driver by your motherboard name. like "Asus P5KPL_AM SE" sound driver.

secondly, if its not builtin then find out your sound card brand, which is mention on the sound card.

Thanx

I set up a new system for my PC but the sound does not work. I lost the CD of the sound definition. The card is fox conn.ADI 1888 6-Channel AC97.The mother board is ASUS P5PE.The OPerating system is XP

Hi Ok so you need to search on the internet (google will do) for "AC97 drivers for XP" You will find a few links where you can download your drivers. So download, install, then reboot your computer. It should work fine after that. Let me know if this isnt working for you. Good luck!

Sound card not working ( no sound output ) mother board intel 810E

Hi,

Go to Settings, Control Panel, Sound and Audio Devices, check "Place volume icon in the taskbar." In your Device Manager, pls verify that the drivers for your sound card are completely and correctly installed with no yellow or red markings. Likewise, verify that in your CMOS/BIOS settings, the onboard audio has been enabled. The sound driver/installer for an Intel CA810E has the filename 4035full.exe and uses a DOS component.

Should this not work, you might not have an Intel motherboard but one that just uses the Intel 810E chipset. Please post back with a more specific motherboard brand and model.

While it is true that the 810E chipset is by Intel, it does not necessarily mean that the motherboard entirely is by Intel. It could be by Asus, MSI, PCChips, ECS, Soltek or others. The sound therefore need not be the same for all versions of motherboards using the said chipset.

The Intel mb that uses this chipset carries the model CA810E or CA810 which uses Creative Sound Blaster* AudioPCI 128V audio solution or Crystal Semiconductor CS4297 AC '97 stereo audio codec;

The Asus CUWE-FX/RM, FlexATX or i810E uses the same Intel 810E chipset but different sound. Asus can and may use CMI, Crystal, Creative, ESS.

An ECS BKi810E(V7.3) uses the same Intel chipset but C-Media 8738 for sound.

An MSI MS-6188 uses the same chipset. It may have used an Avance-Realtek AC97 for sound.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back to confirm that you have an Intel CA810 version or by some other motherboard manufacturer.

Good luck and kind regards.

Drivers for asus A7N266VM Motherboard

You can find the drivers here:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx

In the search bar on the left hand side, input your model number (A7N266-VM) and run a search. Unfortunately I can't provide you with a direct link to your model's driver download page due to the way the website is coded, but it is very easy to naviagate the Asus support site.
