Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

Whirlpool model ET18ZK which was included when I purchased my house, so not sure how old it is...yesterday I removed the grille and vacuumed what appeared to be years of dust from the coils and I really tried to wiggle that vac nozzle all around under there to get it all. Now the fridge seems hot at the base, and we smell a burning (?) odor. Did I mess something up? Could I have messed up a fan?

I lay down and studied the thing and decided the fan was not running. Then I poked around near the back and moved something back up against what I think was the fan and it started turning its near the back and behind the coils to the right (as you look at the front of the fridge) ............if I have the fan running again do you think all is well? How old is this fridge, and would you recommend replacing it?

You may have dislodged a fan, or a the coils and have them against a wall or other part of the refrigerator. Can you tell exactly where the smell is coming from as that will help me know what is happening. Look for anything that is deformed or melting, otherwise look at the compressor. You may have accidentally shorted the compressor out. Let me know what you find.

Whirlpool ref model #ED5PVEXVS00, need filter for this model. We don't know the part number needed or where on the refrigerator that the filter is located. Please help with both

The original part number is 4396841; cartridge T2RFWG2. The filter fits into the grill at the bottom of the refrigerator (nearly centered on the left hand side of the grill). There is a cap covering the filter.

The fridge can be used without a filter if the cap is taken off the old filter and put back into place. For a diagram that includes the filter and grill location see: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/partsdirect/showSubComp.pd?imageUrl=http%3a%2f%2fc.searspartsdirect.com%2flis_png%2fPLDM%2fW0812046-00001.png . The filter is part 30 in the diagram. The entire set of parts diagrams, leading to parts list and prices are available here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Whirlpool-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-ED5PVEXVS00/1198/0165000 .

Another on-line source for the filter is: http://www.partstore.com/Part/Whirlpool/Whirlpool/ED5PVEXVS00/Whirlpool/Whirlpool/4396841/New.aspx .

I hope this helps.

Nu Tone Bath Exhaust Fan - QT-110N-B - motor vibrating

You can buy just the motor assembly. You would remove the grill. Usually there is a plug to disconnect the motor. Remove screw(s) and the motor and fan assembly will come out leaving the rough in housing in the ceiling. I did not locate your model number as you listed it however the QT line has numerous model numbers. Here is a link to the nutone page. You should be able to purchase a "trim kit" which would include the fan, motor, and grill. You can either buy it on-line, or you might try an electrical supply company.

There is an adjustment on the side of the IM face to set fill time. Either that or partially close the saddle valve to cut back on the water flow.

Lasko 3520 20-Inch Cyclone fan - disassemble fan for cleaning?

How do I clean my Cyclone or Air Companion™?
Lay the fan face up on a flat surface. The front grill should be facing you. Remove the screws from the rear grill. Place a flat-head screwdriver into the gap between the front and rear grills. Pull the front grill towards you, exposing the fan blade. Do not remove the knobs on either side. Then, wipe the blade with a soft, damp cloth. Use a mild detergent if necessary. Be sure not to touch the motor. Click here to download product instruction sheet.

Vacuum condenser light of sub zero 650 is on - how to clean it

We recommend vacuuming your condenser every 3 - 6 months. Cleaning the condenser is important for the overall operations of the unit including cooling functions. A dirty condenser may lead to warm temperatures in the refrigerator and freezer. It may also cause the unit to run excessively. It may contribute to condensation or frost inside of the compartments. If the condenser is not cleaned properly it may even cause premature failure of mechanical components in the unit. Condenser Cleaning - All Models Before cleaning the unit, shut the electricity off at the control panel. When you clean the condenser, wear gloves to avoid injury from the sharp condenser fins. Use a soft bristle brush and vacuum to remove dust and lint from the condenser. To avoid bending the condenser fins, be sure to vacuum in the direction of the fins, up and down. Clean the condenser every three to six months or sooner if you have pets. 600 Series Framed and Stainless Steel louvered grilles: First remove the grille screws located at the bottom of the grille. Tilt the top of the grille forward and release the springs from behind the grille, then lift off. Overlay Panel Grille: To remove, lift up then pull out at the bottom and down to release from its mounting bracket. Remove the two black screws in the lowest louver of the grille. Tilt the bottom of the grille out and away. It will release from the top of the grille. Model 601RG Stainless Steel Grille: Remove in a similar fashion as the overlay grille panel. 700 Series All Units: At the bottom of the unit, remove the four screws holding the kick plate/grille in place. It will then slide forward, giving you access to the condenser area. 400 Series 424/424FS At the bottom of the unit, remove the screws holding the kick plate. The condenser is located behind. 427/427R: Remove the four screws holding the kick plate/grille in place. It will then slide forward, giving you access to the condenser area. 430: First remove the screws located at the bottom of the grille. NOTE: These screws (Phillips head) are accessed with the door open. Tilt the top of the grille forward and release the springs from behind the grille, then lift off. 200 Series 245, 249, 315W Remove the kick plate at the bottom of the unit, giving you access to the condenser area.

Bought house. Inherited shop/vac. A bit old, but

If you are going to use the wet vac to remove water, be sure to remove the bag inside the canister first. Also, some wet vacs have an internal float that has to be installed, but that may not be the case with yours.

Eureka the boss vacuum cleaner brush won't turn

Take the top cover off, remove the torx screws on each side of the motor housing, remove the screw on the back holding the hose, then you just have to compare the 2 before putting on the new one. Can't tell for sure without a model number to get you a picture. What isn't on the new base, take off the old base and put it on the new one.
