I am not able to type the @ symbol on my Brother typewriter. Model #EM-530. I have tried everything it is driving me crazy. Thanks for your help!!

If it is typing the alternate symbol on the key you are in KBII. The code key with the key in the top row labeled KBII will get you out of that mode.

The keys are typing different symbols. How can I get it back to normal? If I type R it makes a random symbol or types "j". Help!

If you are not in KBII, proportional space or a language mode the print wheel homing pawl is broken, you need a tech.
