Electrolux Canister - Stops working after 1-2...
Our vac works for a short time, then shuts off and makes clicking noise as if trying to restart again. Works after cooling for a while but for another very short time. Your suggestion on fix would be greatly appreciated.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure
I would advise that it could be a thermal switch or a regular switch that the thermal switch is over heating and needs replacement – there are small hoses in the door section that could have been pinched or kinked and it stopping the air flow from the vacuum – also check for a clogged or plugged vacuum hose, a full vacuum bag or a dirty vacuum filter. Check the thermal switch or reg switch or the hoses in the door. Not familiar with thi sbrand, but a reset is for when the brushes get jammed pr stalled, it will trip the reset. Make sure that the brsuh roll turns easily, also for a broken belt and/or bad brush roll. Some resets are for when the vac motor over heats, it will trip saving the motor. Usually this is for a jammed brush roll or a clog.

The symptoms you describe are typical of a vac that has a blockage (hence poor suction). It cuts out because it's over-heating. You need to check the hose, the filters and anywhere else where something may have got stuck. Blockages are often caused by things like paper clips, but can be caused by something as apparently harmless as a piece of paper which gets stuck and then debris builds up behind it and causes a log-jam.

If the suggestion that renevacdoc did not work, it is most likely that your valve assembly(full bag control) has gone bad and needs to be replaced. You will have to take your vac to the Aerus/Electrolux dealer/service store for repair.
